ok so I think there's like a 97% chance that the twitchcon mc live is going to be promo for Minecraft dungeons which idrc about (peace and love to those who celebrate I've just never played it) but my wildly unsupported conspiracy theory is that the big ancient city portal thing isn't actually a portal, it's some kind of screen. mobs do come out of it but they're like digital ghosts or something, so they're created on the screen, not coming in from a different dimension. the big boss at the end is just a hand or maybe a scary face that reaches out of the screen. if they ever port this to the base game they'll add some way to control what displays on the screen via redstone

ok so they confirmed it is a portal and also released info about the next drop so I was wrong on all counts which means I get a second try. Eye think the reason they're adding wool stairs and slabs instead of just sticking with the colored wood type strat they've had for the last several years is bc we'll be able to sit on the new wool blocks.
