My favorite part so far of reading Out of the North by Hazel_Athena is everyone in Wano raising an eyebrow while watching Zoro willingly interact with another human being for the first time in his life

"Will you make miso soup for me every day?" is an old-fashioned Japanese proposal so Sanji straight up asked for Zoro's hand in marriage while high on cold medicine

Writing in 3rd person limited is funny because sometimes you have to choose between a good piece of prose and what you think is realistic for the character’s internal narrative
I agonized over this line for ages because I liked how it sounded but I also know in my heart of hearts Zoro has no idea what a bordelaise sauce is
Eventually I decided it probably wasn’t something that would stick out to most readers
X
the problem with working on multiple big ideas at once is I'm not finishing anything I can post lmao, here's a page from one of the comics I have in the slow cooker
Happy Valentine's Day! My piece is for Isme (not on tumblr) who gave the prompt of zoro and sanji as office workers who are competitive at work but get along veeery well in private ;) Enjoy!
(the competition is real and they both take it VERY seriously)

War and Love meet on the battlefield
Hear me out about Zoro and Sanji as Ares and Aphrodite
Specifically, the Renaissance interpretation of them which was heavily focused on the duality of their natures. The contrast between love and war, but the overlap between passion and violence. Aphrodite admiring the passion with which Ares views battle and Ares appreciating that a person fights the most passionately when motivated by love (whether it’s for or against) is very Zosan coded.
Two forces that seem like they stand in opposition, but complement each other in ways you wouldn’t expect
Yes yes all of this!
I said in a different reply somewhere that Aphrodite and Sanji are very similar in the sense of representing love in a way the recognizes love can be furious, painful, passionate, and powerful as much as it can be gentle, warm, and beautiful
