It's 2 years later and I'm still holding. Like sap from a tree you're stuck in an inconvenient place And no matter how hard I scrub you're still there reminding Me of the time I climbed a tree. It was a monolith and I had no doubt I could reach the top, but the branches seemed to thicken as I ascended. And my hands became blistered, but I pretended That I didn't feel at all and I didn't stop. Despite your swaying from the wind and your will, I struggled up that tree on that hill, And I never imagined what it'd be like If I fell to meet the ground Until that day the heavy rain loosened my hands  And sent me sailing and hoping I'd land In a safer place than I had left moments ago. And those moments turned to days. And my free fall didn't change. And now I'm floating Inches from the ground, Waiting for you.
