Kageyama was in the middle of talking about the climbing wall and the amphitheater and all of the activities the campers do in both areas when he heard a girlish voice and his jacket grabbed suddenly, which made him jerk a bit. He turned around, not because he was angry but because he was surprised someone had touched him so suddenly and so casually. His eyes stayed on the girl, and while his face didn’t show it, he was very happy to tell her about camp because even though he found it lonely at times, he did truly find himself enthusiastic about all of the activities and the camp itself. It was a safe haven for him, and he appreciated that something like this was created for kids like him. It meant a lot, especially for a person like Kageyama, always being the outcast in ‘regular’ school.
"You’ll get a schedule," Kageyama started to explain, walking side by side with Yachi with the other two walking behind them and being… Well, whatever. He was just glad to be asked questions. "You can pick classes, but generally, you’ll take a wide variety, some mandatory and some electives. Everyone helps tend to the activities and where we all live. You get to pick some activities though. Ancient Greek is a must, but you can also take a class on mythological species. I like that one a lot. Another one is the realms that make up our world. So, the Underworld—" Where his father lived, but he omitted that detail, "And it’s branches. Olympus, and other gods’ and goddesses’ realm. I find that class to be very interesting too."
"I’ve taken many of the sub-classes here," he informed Yachi, almost in a bit of a condescending manner, although he shouldn’t have because it wasn’t necessarily a good or a bad thing. "So if you want some help choosing some electives, I can assist. I don’t mind," he said with a faint of a smile on his lips, but it faded just as quickly as it came. He cleared his throat softly to forgo any sort of embarrassment that might have crept up.
They’re the same age, but the moment Kageyama starts talking Yachi thinks that he’s way more mature than she could ever hope to be. Maybe it’s a different in their parentage, since Death and the afterlife is a more serious notion that Love is usually perceived to be, but this isn’t the place to ask just what causes that tone in his voice, nor does she have the right to ask a complete stranger his life story, since that’s where she thinks it will lead.
Still, it’s handy, beyond handy, what he’s telling her, and knowing that she could ask details before committing to something she might not actually like is a relief in itself. Things have changed since her Mother was here, after all, so it wasn’t like she could go off old information to make her choices here. Giving a grateful smile, she itches a sudden scratch at the side of her head.
“Thank you. It’s all a little overwhelming, you know? But I’ll take you up on that, when the time comes. Learning about the different realms would be great.”
Especially since thus far, all she knew about mythology was what was written – her mother wasn’t particularly fond of telling her things that didn’t need to be said, after all. It’d been a solitary path so far, despite everything, so the thought of being around people like her all the time, people her own age no less.. Now that the nervousness was gone, Yachi’s more than a little surprised that she isn’t beaming with happiness.
“Heh, at least it isn’t all based on your cabin. I don’t think I could bear having to study--”
Oops. Panicking a little, she glances around to the two others, but they don’t seem to be paying much attention, more transfixed by nymphs in the distance frolicking around. That was close, even if she didn’t let it slip too far – not that it was gonna matter soon enough, but even admitting who her parent was caused her physical pain sometimes. Hopefully her half-siblings weren’t what she’d been warned against, considering she has to spend the next three months with them.
“We-Well! Anyway. I’ll trust your judgement, Cabin Leader.”
