At the start, her words didn’t faze him, it was the words of fire from a man now scorned. He always tried to belittle her, it was his top priority to rid her from their lives from day one yet, she remained. It isn’t until she feels his focus that she panics. She tries to close her eyes but she knows she’ll be forced to open them. “Eliah. Elijah no, please! I’m scared, I’m scared I’ll never be a part of this family. I’ll never be good enough. I’ll never be his Always and Forever. It’s family. He told me he’d kill me and my brother if he heard we were a threat to any of you. Please.” Her words have no merit as her eyes focus on his, and then close as momentous parts of her memory are erased. 

He ignored her pleas, it was too late for him to stop but he didn’t care, his motives only fueled by the anger inside him. “You will live your life without ever of having known him.” If asked why he was doing this, he would say he wasn't in his right mind. But that would be a lie. “Now you will take your things and leave this house. You won’t remember speaking to me, you will live a life away from my brother.”

As Aurora saw the anger bubble up inside him she couldn’t find it in herself to be scared. At this point she hadn’t much to lose and despite being the victim of circumstance when it came to Elijah, she wasn’t smart enough to back off. Or at least she wasn’t thinking much. “Careful Elijah, wouldn’t want you to lose control. You’ve already disappointed your family enough don’t you think?” She challenges. Perhaps if they were both themselves everyone would be a lot safer.  “You look like you want me dead, do it. I have nothing to live for.” Despite her words, there is a fiery revenge in her eyes, someone will pay for the pain she is suffering. 

“You don’t get to speak of my family. You know nothing about us except what you picture for yourself in your little fantasy world.” There was something about the way that Aurora included herself into his family’s business that irritated him. All she and her brother were to the family were a danger and a burden. Elijah decided it was time to end that. “You will forget Niklaus,” he said, compelling her. “You will forget everything about him, you will forget you ever met him, you will forget that you ever loved him. Niklaus was never in your life.”

What’s with that face? I’m the one who usually thinks that long lost siblings can’t be trusted.

I didn’t exactly have the most pleasant conversation last I spoke to him.

Perhaps it was a bad mood to mention Klaus, the mere mention stunted a reaction in her. “It’s hardly your concern, Elijah.” She says through gritted teeth. There’s a fire in her eyes, one that would eliminate all that blocked her path. “I’m always in a state of distress. Yet I found the time to be here, I found the time to help your family and mine. I was here for Nik when he needed someone and when he was looking for his brother to help, you weren’t there Elijah! You weren’t here when they needed you and that..it’s just disgraceful to your noble name.” Anyone that knew her could tell at this point that she wasn’t herself, she rarely stooped to the level Elijah dropped to when addressing her. Ridiculing her insecurities and the things she can’t control but yet, there she was standing right beside him on the same step.

Aurora’s words only angered him further. “It was a choice I made to keep my family, and this town, safe. I am always here for my family, everything I do is for my family!” If Elijah was himself, he would have ended the conversation before it had even begun. But the way Aurora was throwing out accusations infuriated him.

Naturally, Nik believed himself to be the keeper of all things. He hadn’t thought much of inviting her, or the grief it was clearly causing his elder brother. Though perhaps it only sweetened the deal for Aurora. Under better circumstances, she’d further rub it in.

“High school stuff? I hear demon blood really packs a punch, you know? And from all the stuff I’ve heard about lethal Elijah Mikaelson. What? Did you fear for the safety of those your love?” She asks raising a brow. “Or were you just..vacationing while I broke every part of myself to be there for your family when you weren’t?” The questions continue but not before at least sweetening their conversation. “But don’t worry, dear Elijah. I’m..to be leaving for awhile.”

When she mentioned the demon blood, he stood tensed. The subject was still fresh in his mind, and he wasn’t sure if he would truly ever recover from it. “I was no good to my family in the state I was in.” When it came to taking care of his family, Elijah would hold back any troubles he was having for their sake. But the demon blood was something that would cause greater problems for all of them, not just himself. Aurora’s comment irritated him but he didn’t feel the need to explain any further to her. “Did you and Klaus have a little lover’s quarrel?”

As of late, Aurora had made quite a pleasant life for herself. She was under looser strains from her brother, she hadn’t seen Elijah in months and she was living happily with the man she loved. It was practically a dream and she didn’t waste a second of it. Naturally, she’d transferred a number of her things to Nik’s house. WIth his permission, of course, it had flares of them both. 

“I see you’ve made yourself scarce. Are we making daft observations this afternoon?”

Although he had been away for a while, he would have hoped his brother would have spoken to him before allowing Aurora to move in, as it was still his home. He could see that once again, the two were blind in their love 

“I had personal things to take care of.” He never trusted Aurora and he certainly wasn’t going to tell her about what had happened.

After Freya cured him of the effects of the demon blood, he returned to the mansion. Now that he was himself, or as much of himself as he was going to be, he wanted to check up on his siblings. He still needed to speak to Henrik but first, he wanted to visit Klaus. While he was gone, Klaus would have been the one to be a center point for their siblings. When he stepped inside, there was something different about the home. It wasn’t until he saw a familiar redhead that he knew what had changed. 

“I see you've made yourself at home.”

Freya stood up. “I have to leave you like this for a little while for it all to work. I’ll be back soon brother.” She told him with a carrying pat of the hand. She hated leaving him there, but she had to. He had to allow it to work it’s way out of his system. 

She returned by nightfall, having complete various other tasks in that time and was ready to resume helping her brother. “Hi Elijah.” She spoke tentatively, knowing he’d most likely be very out of it from the lack of blood. She grabbed a vial from her cupboard and gave him a few drops of blood, slowly introducing it back like she said. 

He didn’t know how long Freya was gone for, what was a mere few hours felt like years. In that time, he spent most of it blacked out. But when he was awake, he would see the figure. With each blackout and awakening, the figure got clearer until he could finally see who stood in front of him.

He had just woken up from a blackout when Freya returned. He could smell the blood coming from the vial. As the drops of blood hit his tongue, the colour of his skin returned but his hunger was still there. He experienced years of starvation, a few drops wasn’t going to satisfy him. But he was himself. The demon blood was out of his system and its effects were no longer there.

Freya stepped away from his head and stood in front of him. “The pain won’t get any worse. It will simply stay where it is til your cravings subside and we slowly reintroduce you to blood.”

He took deep breaths, all he could think about was how hungry he was. It felt like it was years since he fed. It was similar to how he felt whenever he had woken up from being daggered, only the demon blood emphasized his need to feed.
