"At the turn of the century, when racial prejudice wasn't just accepted, it was encoded in the law, forgotten hero Marshall "Major" Taylor broke the color line. A wheelman and racer without peer, Taylor's faith, integrity and discipline preserved him. He was a World Champion and his story continues to inspire."

Call for Submissions!
This year NOCAZ is printing a youth anthology, and itâs going to be awesome! Any person under 18 is eligible to participate! All participants will receive:
Printed copies of the anthology
An equal share of the profits made from our efforts to sell the anthology.Â
The opportunity to showcase their work at a live reading the weekend of the festival (sadly we only have a few spots for this event!)
In short, it's a really sweet deal for a young person! Our goal is to share the joy of publishing. The feeling of pulling a book off the shelf and seeing your own work inside of it can be revolutionary. We understand that this can also offer young people an upper hand when applying for arts programs, arts driven high schools, college, and more. We love our festival, and we want to explore the ways that it can help kids grow!Â
The deadline is November 1st. You can submit your work digitally OR by bringing them in person to any of the 14 library branches (just look for one of the sweet teal boxes pictured above). To learn more, go to our website!
