Pulling the door shut behind him, Helena leaned back against the wall, as if that would make more room in the awfully uncomfortable storage closet she had found for the theater next door. She leaned her head over and put her ear against the door. âTheyâre sticking around for a minute.â She heard a couple of short whoops of the siren. If they were going to come looking down here, it wouldnât take too long to find them. Helena was always so confident that the pigs were so stupid there was no possible way they would catch her. She obviously forgot that there were very legitimate ways in which they exerted their power. Even if they got caught, however, Helena knew she would be okay. It wouldnât be her first time getting arrested, and she had the connections to make sure it would be just as short a stint as last time. âYeah, well, you can buy me a sandwich after you pawn whatever you stole.â She squinted at him in the darkness. âIâm just taking a guess here, but if the cops are after you for anything worse than stealing, Iâm going to need to ask you to leave.âÂ
   Getting into trouble with the police this time around wasnât exactly his fault. He hadnât been planning on doing anything illegal when he agreed to drive a couple of idiots to the bank. It had definitely not been his fault that the guys thought they would be able to rob the bank, incidentally turning him into their getaway driver. That is until Noel eventually ditched the car and the idiots and ran away from the scene. â Well, it´s complicated. â He admitted to the girl. â I mean I didnât kill anyone and I didnât exactly steal anything. I think this time around Iâm only guilty of being a gullible idiot. â Noel wanted to slap himself in the face for being so incredibly stupid, but then a thought crossed his mind. â Why did you do that? Why did you help me? â

âYou also need to take him to the vet as soon as possible to get him shots, heartworm medicine, flea and tick prevention, all that wonderful,â she added, turning to look at him. âBaby gate is to keep him in one area of your apartment. At least until we get him potty trained. The kitchen would be the easiest place to clean up any accidents he has,â she explained, scratching the pup lovingly underneath the chin. âYou could leave him in here when youâre not home but we donât know how heâll react to being in a small closed off space.â
   The stray dog barked happily at all of the attention he was receiving and Noel couldnât help but melt at the scene before him. He wasnât actually sure whether he was allowed to keep a dog in his apartment or not but it wouldnât be the first rule he would break and it definitely wouldnât be the last So even if he knew he would do whatever he could to keep his apartment he knew he would never be able to turn his back on the poor thing when he had nowhere else to go. â I understand, â he assured her as he knelt before the bathtub so he would be able to properly pet the dog and shower him with kisses. â But do you know what I think is more important? I think we need to find him a name, but it needs to fit him perfectly. â
I will be on in a minute. I'm just outside enjoying the weather since there's this heatwave ( in my country that's equally as rare as finding a unicorn in your backyard ) BUT I will be on my phone so if you would like to plot just let me know!!

in the best scenario, sheâs intoxicated as fuck and in the worst scenario, sheâs two seconds away from making a fool of herself. taylorâs still nursing the fruity yet copiously alcoholic drink when she approaches a familiar face. âhey. iâve seen you around before.â she smiles, a crooked smile thatâs very hers and a bit drowsy. âdo you come here often? by the way, thatâs not a pick-up line.â the writer explains herself. âno, seriously, iâm asking cause this shit here,â taylor waves the glass around a bit. âthis is fucking poison and iâm just wondering if itâs always been like this or if iâm getting old and a little bitch when it comes to booze.â
   For a moment his heart dropped when she told him that she has seen him before. How does he know her? He tried to remember if he had ever taken anything from her or if she had witnessed him doing anything that could get him into trouble. But his worries soon turned into nothing when he remembered that a couple of weeks ago he had met her at this exact place and gotten drunk with her. â Youâre not getting old darling. Everyone needs to be careful with that poison! I can usually handle strong drinks but last time I had that drink I woke up in a dumpster! â

After receiving her green tea from the barista, Eloiseâs bright blue eyes scanned the busy coffee shop for a place to sit. Usually, she got her beverage and was on her way, but she had pushed herself harder than usual at this morningâs rehearsal, so her bad knee was bothering her more than it typically did. It had only been eight months since her injury, so she was still getting back in the swing of things. She planned on taking a seat for only a short while, then she wanted to stop at home to see her son before she had to be back for her evening performance.Â
Of course, because it was late morning, seating options were very limited. Approaching an occupied table that just happened to have an open chair, a kind smile spread across Eloiseâs doll-like features. âExcuse me, Iâd hate to be a bother, but would you mind if I sat here with you?â the tiny woman asked. âI wonât be but ten minutes or so, then Iâll be on my way.âÂ
   It had been by some sort of a miracle that Noel had been able to find an empty seat. After receiving his steaming hot cup of coffee he sat down at the corner table, as far away from the overwhelming crowd waiting for their beverages. Usually, Noel rarely went to coffee shops, but he had recently made some money and he thought it was the perfect opportunity to treat himself with a good cup of coffee. But what he hadnât been expecting was how incredibly loud and crowded it was. He couldnât really help but feel kind of anxious because of it, that is until out of the crowd a woman came over to him, asking if she could sit with him. â Of course. â He told her with a smile on his lips. â Just sit for as long as you need. I honestly donât need an entire table for myself. â He assured her. â but I have to ask; Is it always this busy? â

âDonât give me that bullshit, Noel.â Roman stepped closer to him, assessing the way his face contorted in pain. It looked like he had showed up a little too late. âI know you were raised in a difficult situation,â to say the least, âbut youâre not a kid anymore. You have options. Itâs not too late to go a different direction, Noel. Change is hard, but you could do it if you really wanted to.â
He was starting to think that he didnât want to change his life around, and that was the saddest part of it all. Somewhere along the way, Noel had convinced himself that was all he got. All he deserved. âCome on, man. Iâm worried about you. One of these days, Iâll be too late to help you.â Roman reached for his arm, steadying the boy on his feet. âWhere does it hurt?â
   Even though Noel would never admit it to anyone, especially not to Roman he couldnât help but look up to the other man. He had known him for a really long time since Noel was just a kid wreaking havoc around his neighbourhood. They met for the very first time after Noel was caught stealing money from the register at the corner store. He had been absolutely terrified but Roman had let him go with a warning. Since that moment he had been the one stable thing in his life. He always knew that no matter how much he would mess up he would just be a phone call away.Â
   Noel had heard everything he was saying too many times before. A part of him agreed with him and wanted to change but then there was the other part of him that couldnât even imagine living his life any differently. So he simply rolled his eyes and fished out a packet of cigarette from his pocket, offering one to Roman. â Youâre not my dad Roman, you shouldnât have to worry about me. As you said, Iâm not a kid anymore I can take care of myself. Iâve been doing it for a long time. â Noel placed the unlit cigarette between his lips, without saying anything for a moment before continuing. â You know what? Iâve known you for god knows how long but I still donât quite get you and usually Iâm really good at reading people. Why do you care so much? â
&&.ofcpersephone¡:
Persephone was never one to leave a friend hanging after an SOS, so naturally she headed to Noelâs as quickly as she could. âWhatâs going on? Are you hurt?â she asked, looking him over to see if she could see any blood or bruising. She followed him to the bathroom and gasped as he opened the door. âOh my god! What a precious baby!â she cooed, rushing over to the dog and scratching behind itâs ears. âOkay, luckily I grew up with dogs, so you called the right girl,â she teased, grabbing a towel off the rack and draping it over the dogâs shoulders. âFirst things first, go get some food, collar, leash, toys, and a baby gate. Iâll get him dried off and make sure he gets to know your place a bit better.â
   When Noel was growing up he had constantly begged his mother to give him a puppy but the answer had always been the same. âMaybe when youâre olderâ Then once he got older and he no longer lived at home he would always try to feed every stray he would run into. Still, that didnât mean he had any idea how to properly take care of one. Taking the dog home had been a completely impulsive idea, like most of his ideas. He had been on his way home after taking care of some business and there he was, staring at him with the biggest puppy eyes, Noel had ever seen before. There was absolutely no way he would have been able to leave him. â Baby gate? â Noel furrowed his brows together in confusion as he watched Persephone taking care of the poor thing. â I should probably be able to find it somewhere, but why? âÂ
&&.drxcollins¡:
The kid could have kept the charade going. Continue to pretend that he had no idea who he was or what had happened. Actually, Ben was expecting this and was a little surprised to hear when Noel accepted what he did. âWrong. I donât care why you did it. I just care that you did it.â He added, right after Noel had finished talking. But that didnât stop him from giving him some half ass apology and putting the blame on him. Right, because it had been his fault for being - at the wrong place, etc, etc. Typical.Â
Looking at him, this guy didnât look like he was struggling. He didnât look like some petty thief but could pass for someone decent. Which was how he managed to get close to people and get away with this criminal behavior. Ben wondered why he did it though. Was it the thrill of it all? He used to get into his fair share of trouble when he was younger and looking back on his life now, he had been pretty fucking stupid back then. Honestly, if he had not joined the military his life would be so different. And probably not in a good way.
âWell, someone should give you a cape then. Pat you on your back for your heroism. I mean, if anyone deserves to spend a day at the DMV, is a perv.â He took another drink, finishing what was left on his glass and then ordering another one. âYouâre paying for my drink by the way. I think itâs the least you can do, right?â the bartender came back with his whiskey, telling Ben how much he owed. âOh, itâs on him.â
   Noelâs eyes drifted towards the man he had been dancing with. He was still on the dance floor, now with another man acting just as roughly as he had been with him earlier. A small part of him wanted to laugh and mock him because he had no idea Noel had his wallet in his pocket and was about to use his money to buy himself and his other victim a drink. â So youâre not going to call the police? â The ice clinked gently in the glass as he rolled it absently between his hands.
   He truly wouldnât be surprised one bit if he would eventually call the police on him. He had been doing this for a really long time longer than he even cared to admit. During all of that time, he had been arrested multiple times before but somehow he had always been able to talk his way out of trouble. So he wasnât afraid of what might or might not happen after this conversation, he simply ordered them another drink. â If youâre going to do it, you should call them right now. Why draw it out longer than necessary? âÂ

( â ⥠. CLOSED STARTER FOR // @noclking
     â â nope. my nose twitched, thatâs not a good idea. â kelsey often wondered why noel even continued speaking to her, especially when a good majority of the time she was sure that she was a debby downer. they frequently had conversations much like the one they were having then, with her staring at him pointedly and hoping that he would listen to her just ONCE. â iâve had a good couple of months, donât get me wrong, but i donât think iâll be able to cough up enough close to enough for bail for you. letâs think of a new plan like ⌠i donât know, dog walking. iâll be your first customer and let you walk pip. â kelsey cocked her head towards the chow laid out on the floor across from them.Â
   Noel had been trying his very best to stay on the right path for the past week. He had even tried to apply for a couple of jobs, which hadnât gone as well as he had hoped and now he was getting desperate. With a loud sigh, he let himself fall down on Kelseyâs couch before groaning loudly. â Dog walking? â He glanced down at little Pip, who he absolutely adored. Noel knew dog walking was something he would genuinely enjoy doing. He loved animals and being able to spend his day around dogs would be perfect. Yet, he couldnât help but wonder why would anyone trust him with their pets? So instead of agreeing with her he simply shrugged. â You worry too much darling. But do you know what? Yes, I might have come over to complain about everything, but I also came over so you could take it easy for a little bit. I could cook for you, I make the best lasagna in New York. â

âOh he totally wouldâve hit you.â Nikki snickered. âI have two very helpful advantages. Oneâ i am short and tiny. Twoâ iâm far to cute for anyone to think of punching.â She nodded with a teasing grin. âWhile youâre very cute, Noel, youâre also tall and threatening so that cancels out the cute part entirely.â Nikki broke down her logic as she poured Noel another drink and slid it over to him from across the bar.
She let out a relieved sigh as she watched the guy and his friends finally leave. She hated night shiftsâ far too many assholes came around and Nikki didnât have the temper to deal with so many calmly. âWhat?â Her nose wrinkled. âYouâve never told me that ever. I donât recall you saying that to me, like, seriously?â Nikki said with a fake gasp, obviously lying since Noel had told her on plenty occasions.Â
   The bar was incredibly loud and busy with all kinds of drunk and stupid people, like it usually was during the weekends. Normally, noel fed on that type of energy, he would spend his night drowning himself in the attention of drunk strangers. This night was different though, he had absolutely no interest in the music or the strangers surrounding him. His entire attention was on Nikki and all he really wanted to do right now was to have a quiet night with her. Like they used to do when they were kids.
   â Me, threatening? â He couldnât contain the laughter that escaped from his lips. " Iâm probably just as threatening as a gigantic chihuahua â Noel hesitated for a moment, nursing his drink before continuing. â Wait, a huge chihuahua would be absolutely terrifying, so maybe youâre right. Iâm adorable but threatening at the same time â He knew he didnât make any proper sense but he also knew that he didnât have to when he was around her. As soon as she joked about him never mentioning before the need for her to be more careful during these shifts he simply raised his hands in a mock surrender, with his usual cheeky smile on his lips. â This is the first and the last time I will ever mention it! The only reason why I don´t want you to get into any fights is because I would honestly feel bad for the poor sucker that would try to fight you. I mean you might be tiny but I would be absolutely terrified if I would ever cross you. âÂ
Iâve been having a pretty messed up day but hopefully it will calm down soon. Until it does Iâm going to try to get to the replies but maybe Iâll just do them later tonight, depending on my mood. ANYWAYS I hope yâall are having a fantastic day and every single one of you are great and as always you can like this if youâd like to plot
âAnd I still mourn the person I couldâve been; that gullible child that never grew quite right.â
