No (Comic) Code is an anthology book, inspired by the Pearl Jam album from 1996. We're hitting Kickstarter in August 2014. No (Comic) Code features almost 70 small press comic creators and professionals like Ron Marz (Witchblade), Marc Laming (Planet of the Apes), Sterling Gates (Superman), Rob Williams (Judge Dredd) and Mike Collins (Dr Who). The book (which will be square and LP sized) will feature stories based around the songs on the album and from the session, and a series of illustrated essays about Pearl Jam. All the writers and artists involved share a mutual love for Pearl Jam, especially the album where they went from being everyone's band to our band. We'll be posting regular updates and art etc here. We're also on https://twitter.com/NoComicCode
Hi Ryan and Valentin! I am a huge fan and sad to see the series done. I am a 3D modeler and printer and just HAD to make this tribute figure of good ‘ol D4VE! It turned out so good (thanks to the amazing art I used as reference!) I will be using it as a portfolio piece to show clients. I loaded a multipage PDF of my portfolio on the removable USB/head!
Panels, a community celebrating comics, the people who make them, and the people who love them, is launching soon. Check it! Sign up now and never miss an update. The site's from Paul Montgomery (ifanboy, fuzzy typewriter) and the people at Book Riot, so it's going to be a must visit for comic readers new and old.
There is never enough. Never enough time, never enough money, never enough success, never enough praise, never enough sales. Never enough. That’s part of the life I’ve chosen. We struggle to find that thing that makes us feel satisfied, that gives us joy, but, the truth is that the joy is...
Eddie Vedder (vocals, guitar), Neil Young (lead guitar), Brendan O’Brien (bass),Jack Irons (drums)
The two tracks included in the single Merkinball were recorded at the end of the Mirror Ball sessions in February 1995.
I Got Id is also known by its original title I Got Shit, but the band’s label made them change the title of the song.
"Neil Young gave me a song writing lesson at a half-price rate…on my final he gave me a B+…The chorus melody was inspired by the verse melody in Neil’s Cinnamon Girl" (Eddie Vedder)
Big news from two of the contributors to no (comic) code today. First we heard that artist Luca Pizzari (All Night) has a new book coming out from Image Comics, with writer Jay Faerber. Then we found out writer Ollie Masters (Around the Bend) has a new book with Vertigo Comics with Ming Doyle on art. http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/heat-vision/dc-vertigo-launches-new-crime-716115
