You can call me Nocte and I usually end up doodling way too much. I'm 20 years of age and have way too much free time than I'm supposed to. I'm in too many fandoms to list down. My doodles will be in my Art Blog.

Hello and welcome again to the Miku Collab! This time we’re celebrating Miku Day (March 9th) and I’ll be hosting a special collab.

The theme of the collab will be OriMiku (オリミク)

Orimiku stands for “Original Miku”. Orimiku drawings consist of Miku drawn with a different hairstyle and/or costume, created by the artist. (see examples in pixiv)

All the submissions will be compiled into one canvas that will be uploaded on Miku day.

To make this a little bit more entertaining, after I upload the collab there will be a voting to decide the best original design! Anyone will be able to vote, so make sure to spread the word.

Rules:

If you want to join you will have to create a new design for Miku. It MUST be new.

We’re only accepting digital art.

Before joining, you must send an email to [email protected] with the following information: name and website with your latest art (tumblr, twitter, deviantart…). After this, you will receive an email saying whether or not you have been accepted within 48 hours. I’m organizing this alone, so please bear with me if I don’t answer right away. Do not draw a final submission until you get your confirmation.

This time, I will be accepting everyone as long as your piece is drawn digitally. No need to send examples of your art. If you want to join, you’re in.

Submission details:

Your final submission must have a front and back view of your design (full bodies). It can be drawn in any style you want (chibi, stylized…) as long as it’s clear enough. You can see some references here: one, two

Your final submission MUST be a 800x800, .png file, with a transparent background.

You must sign your submission with your twitter/tumblr/etc username and the name of your design.

When you’re done, send your submission to [email protected] and wait for a confirmation email. If i don’t answer in 48 hours, please send me an ask through tumblr or a tweet!

Deadline is on the 7th of march, that means you have a month to draw your piece.

DO NOT UPLOAD your submission until I upload the final canvas. WIPs are okay.

1. Pamela - brought fancy chocolates for the class, very sweet, calm and got along with everyone

2. Amy - nice to me, fun mom, gave me 4 pieces of palette paper while exclaiming “YOU NEED MORE PAPER, IM A MOM”

3. Anne - also brought chocolate and was nice to me

4. Mary Ann - wore timberlands every day

5. Deb - we didn’t talk but she made my fave paintings in the class

6. Tessa - wore all denim, asked me how to pronounce the prof’s name, i said i didn’t know, we agreed on the wrong pronunciation and both called her that for the entire week

7. Pavel - french dad, found out i was majoring in physics and asked me if i knew that einstein was a jerk

8. Andy - brought dunkin donuts munchkins and wore an “Old Guys Rule” t shirt despite appearing to be in his mid 40s

9. Gretchen - didn’t talk that much but she was adorable

10. Aileen - honestly not entirely sure who she is

11. Lisa - i think she might have been my middle school art teacher but i didn’t ask and she didn’t recognize me so

12. Susan - refused to use anything but charcoal and made me nervous

I spent some time reflecting on my life, from the dysfunctional family of my childhood to my current career as an artist, and how this path has shaped me.

I guess part of my recovery is just taking in my life experiences, my emotions, the happiness and the pain, and turn them into art. And through the process, I learn and understand just a little bit more about myself and the world around me.

Art has always been a powerful outlet that helped me and others communicate our ideas and emotions. For all the aspiring and young artists out there, don’t let anyone discourage you. Be it random strangers on the internet or your own parents, no one knows you better than yourself, and no one lives your life except yourself. So don’t ever let anyone take that away from you, your emotions, your art, your sense of self.

Draw for yourself, create for yourself, live for yourself.

Bizarre Tree Fire

Forest fires are nothing to laugh or joke about. They are devastating to people’s homes and wildlife habitats. Sometimes the flames can even get so rampant that they claim lives.

But this tree fire is quite unusual and unlike anything you may have ever seen before. Instead of burning from the outside, two passersby found this tree ablaze inside the trunk. (Source)

Retro Game Room Version 2 I needed to patch the walls and paint, so I thought I might as well change it all up.

23 different consoles and handhelds, about 450 old games. Framemeister xrgb-mini upscaler so it doesn’t look bad on a new tv, handmade custom MAME cabinet, and a fuzzy chair and fuzzy carpet :)
