I kinda hate how RNG-heavy this minigame is. sometimes, it doesn’t matter if you’re skilled—if you’ve got the shittiest luck, your run will be in shambles… kinda.

I thought I wouldn’t be able to complete this because ‘Leon’s Inferno’ was very RNG luck dependent. I almost gave up on it. but I learned this cool alternative strategy (Axeorcist Leon, perfect parry stacks) and got Hellblaze on my last crate so everything went well.

now that I’m done, I’m taking a break from this game until the future DLC lol. I think I finally got the fatigue 😭 I want to pick up a story-rich, calmer game…

FFXIV really teaches you something about loss and the grief that comes with it. not a lot of stories had me mourning characters who have sacrificed themselves to protect.

I still think about Haurchefant. Ysayle. Moenbryda and Papalymo. I still can’t accept Minfilia’s fate, too. and now that I’m going into Stormblood, I feel as though my Warrior of Light carries all of their legacies with her. to forge ahead, for she cannot let their devotion be in vain.

Leon Kennedy better crawl out of my TV screen to personally congratulate me (妄想) because Leon Must Die Forever Rank 5 was crazy as hell !! 🫩🫶🏻 I finally cleared it by running on pure spite at 3AM with Requiem, RPG and a dream.

I enjoyed this minigame overall, but it’s also FRUSTRATINGLY MADDENING. I hate that it becomes >PLAYER VS RNG< in the higher stages. I wish it had better incentives similar to RE4R Mercenaries. like, if you challenge me like this, the prize better be an oiled up shirtless Leon cosmetic idk. but yeah, I would not touch this again unless I’m itching to play as the golden boy.

if you’re attempting to finish Rank 5, this is my advice: GO TO THE CARE CENTER AND BRUTE FORCE THAT RPG-7 TO SHOW UP. your run is close to useless if you don’t have it—Phase 1 Victor is bound to exhaust your time & resources.

you don’t need to have god-tier enhancers. in my case, I gathered up 999 points and invested in two defense enhancers: (1) decreases damage taken by 50% but lessens firepower by 30%, and (2) heals make you invulnerable to attacks. most importantly, calm down. don’t be like me, shaking and whining as I missed a few Requiem shots due to tension

just woke up to the news that my final interview with a well-known company went well, which means... I'll soon have to say farewell to my current job - a place where I've grown comfortable in.

the past week has been overwhelming. I went through the motions of exams and interviews, did what was asked of me. now that I'm here, I don't know what to feel. I'm happy and relieved and anxious and sad at the same time.

I honestly just want to take a break from everything. but I have to move forward...

study #6. Stranger than Heaven x Resident Evil

I replayed Stranger than Heaven’s trailer sooo many times now, so I thought, why not study how they did the character cards?

I realized that my usual way wasn’t quite right (aka. relying on filter gallery) so I decided to play around with gradient maps, noise textures, and other level adjustments. I think I almost got it. overall, I enjoyed recreating it. it’s really cool.

the recent RE discourse on Twitter made me remember that one distressing time when an a//n shipper told me I’m being microaggressive for disliking their ship and criticizing, and started putting things in my mouth to make it sound like I got this racist hatred towards a fictional woman. I’m biracial and a real living person, so for them to accuse me of something I often experience left a negative impression on me when it comes to certain fans.

sorry that this got me talking about that shit again. on the topic of biracial issues though, I just watched the trailer for Stranger than Heaven, and the premise of the story just speaks to me as someone who’s also half-Japanese facing discrimination. the idea of the protagonist carving out a path for people like him made me tear up actually, I’m not gonna lie… 😭 I might pick it up for that sole reason.
