It has definitely taken me a few days to join this year's Hornetversary art celebration, as it always brings such strong emotions up for me.

I'm an elder MH fan. I got into Marble Hornets around 2011, which was a very dark period of my life (basically up until 2015). I was a scared, anxious kid who felt alienated in my daily life, and found this awesome digital horror series. I remember fanart during the early 2010s being all these hot, twink anime guys based on the MH cast and creepypasta characters, all posted on Deviantart, Tumblr, and Pinterest. I latched onto Tim Wright as a character, someone who went through a lot as a child, who faced horrible things and was isolated from a normal life, yet as I grew, so did his character. He was still level-headed, trying to help and find a way out of the madness. To that sad, anxious, alienated child, I felt seen, heard, and it helped me perservere through the worst of my traumas.

I'm now 26, around the age of the guys when they were making the series. I'm clawing my way out of where my trauma and resulting PTSD left me. I'm getting my life back. And when I joined the anniversary stream hosted by KyleCWall, I saw hundreds of other people there like me. I cried, seeing how much joy other people got. I loved every piece of fanart from all sorts of talented artists, especially from the fans who are much younger than I am, and for that day, I was that kid again, reliving the comforting memories of waiting for the newest video to drop, excited to see what savage video ToTheArk would post in response.

To @troywagner, thank you for such a wonderful series that captivated me and comforted me. @timsutton, thank you for portraying a character that felt so hopeless, yet clawed his way to freedom tooth and nail. I truly do not know where I'd be today, even still going, if it weren't for the community and hope I found in Marble Hornets.

To everyone else, happy Hornetversary. Sorry I'm getting sappy on the TL, but I look forward to the next one.
