Painting space is one of my favourite subjects because of the freedom to experiment and try new things, it’s always something i can come back to and still find exciting
Balloons are some of the most fun subjects to paint, so much colour and shine, filled with childish playfulness. So my day late Inktober is a bunch of beautiful balloons!!
Inktober days 1, 2, and 3: mostly practicing tattoo designs for the moment but who knows ive got a whole mont!
my interpretation of a phoenix, half bird, half dragon with a flaming bright coloured tail. lowkey considering this a tattoo for myself!
We’re in for a early fall this year, I’m already feeling the cool fresh air roll in the morning and it feels like autumn, can’t wait for the leaves to change!
coral reefs are some of the world’s most beautiful natural landscapes, it’s such a tragedy that these vibrant living ecosystems face so much human destruction i’d hate to live in a world where coral is extinct. I had so much fun painting this, experimenting with colours and trying to create depth and layers within the reef, im definitely going to make more like this
the view from our balcony after one of the biggest storms this summer, raindrops glittering on the railing
always have my head in the clouds and my feet off the ground
So it’s been months since I’ve posted any art, I’ve been making it but finding the time to photograph and edit the paintings is tough. So this week im going to post a new piece every day, starting off with this baby I made yesterday!
I Spy a thousand frozen butterflies, wings pinned or stitched or beaded, Seashells of every colour, Some glitter, others shine, I spy fabrics, patterns, trinkets, toys you never knew you needed
I spy painted teacups scattered, lining every shelf, I see lighthouses and sailboats, beach decor to cover your walls. I spy pillows plumped and knitted, one for ever day of the year, I spy necklaces and earnings, beads, bracelets, bags and balls.
This small town shop is filled up to the brim with heart, when you step inside this magic place, you’ll swear they’ve turned back time. Searching for treasures long forgotten, like a much less dusty attic, Candies and Curiosities will always be a favourite place of mine.
Stages of a Storm: One of the biggest thunderstorms of the summer, the wind stole our potted plants from our balcony and tore down a streetlight in the parking lot below us
sometimes inspiration just hits you in the face, this was just going to be another space painting but I thought the balloons would be fun and they certainly added to the crazy rainbow psychedelia madness thats going on here
another old painting i never got around to posting, just playing around with fog and depth and atmosphere
i visited this cute old fashioned candy store in a small town over the summer, i fell in love and ive been obsessed with it ever since. it’s so cute and quaint and aesthetically pleasing, walking into the shop was like entering the 1950′s, complete with a rack of vintage comics and an old decorative cash register
perks of being an artist, free appartment decor
some space paintings i recently finnished, using sparkles for stars removes the pain of manually adding them with white and gives a more natural look to the placement. inspired by my older paintings from last year Mountian Dreamscape and Nebula, they are sort of updates to the concept and show the improvements ive made since they were created.
