p1. reading eachothers text out loud to oneanother 

after completing the first writing assignment; to take in an unusual perspective during the residency certain perspectives became prominent to me. for example the cat in the house, the birds in our surroundings, the walls of the home, the sounds, and the household items. i gave them little notes on which the assignment was written. they couldnt tell eachother from what perspective they were writing. 

because some people still felt a bit of shame over their text we decided it would be best to not read your own, but the text of someone else, allowing for anonimity if wanted and mistakes to happen (which was very funny and kept it light)

taking the shared process one step further at a time. 

in the first experiment i did with collective singing i wrote the lyrics, thought of the melody and conducted the choir to sing my song in +/- 30 minutes. 

taking it one step further in the second experiment; here people could conduct themselves, having limited amount of time as to not overthink the process (i realise it can be a hard task for people)  in this project, from the photo above i got together with a small group of people, calling them Werkgroep Koor; doing the writing, re-writing and singing all together. making this a more collective process. everyone can write. even if you think you dont. everyone can sing. even if you believe you cant.

if i learned one thing along the way it’s how important it is for the conductor to know the song they want the choir to perform; they have never heard this song before, makes sense since i wrote it;  singing together bringing joy; it can be scary using your own voice; eventually inciting each other; i love working group dynamics
