Finally back on track after 2 weeks of crazy school work. I tried to eat healthy whenever I could and was made active choices when it was possible but I definitely fell off the wagon for a few days... Probably partially due to the fact that I'm in a new (amazingly awesome and happy) relationship and that's been a bit distracting but it's definitely worth it :)
Anyways...I went on a long run today and came back and did some legs, abs, and arms and I'm about to bake some salmon for dinner :)
Before I was way too worried about making sure I did everything right and healthy but I've realized I need a balance in my life. I can be healthy and active and lose weight without giving up my friends and girlfriend.
Also, this summer instead of working as a waitress I've been given the opportunity to work at a summer Lutheran adventure camp for 10 weeks (with my girlfriend) so I will be hiking, swimming, canoeing, creek-walking, and playing countless camp games with my campers. It's gonna be an amazing way to get in even better shape and if it isn't enough I'll have 300 acres of woods to run around in!! So excited :)
Aaahaa I love this

Just, fucking thank you.
This is my snack bible! You don’t have to starve yourself and cut out snacks to be healthy. In fact, regularly eating small portions as actually very good for you! With guidance, of course!!
Update
Yesterday was my first day back in the gym for two weeks (I was sick for a week and then had tests on tests on quizzes on papers last week and lived in the library) and it felt great! I've decided to start separating my workouts into specific days so yesterday was back and shoulders day. My back has lost almost all the strength it had when I was a swimmer but it felt SOOO good to work it again! Note: I always do a bit of abs and legs but the focus was back and shoulders.
Workout:
1.5 mile walk to the gym
50 mins interval training on cross-ramp elliptical (burned 600 calories)
Rear delt machine 3x15 60lbs
Pec Fly machine 3x15 70lbs
Lat Pulldown 3x15 70lbs (burned like a mother f@#%&er)
Seated Row machine 3x15 55lbs
One-armed rotating plank - 1 minute
Plank - 1 minute
10 pushups (working on my form and getting up to 20)
50 regular crunches
30 crunches with medicine ball between knees
30 seconds scissor kicks
30 slow bicycle crunches
100 calf raises (50 normal, 25 toes out, 25 toes in)
1 minute wall sit
1.5 mile walk home
After working out I went to the locker room to weigh myself (I don't personally own a scale) and weighed myself for the first time in 3 weeks.....I"M OFFICIALLY IN THE 170s!!!!!! 178 to be exact. It's nowhere near my UGW but I haven't been out of the 180s in over a year and I'm down 17 pounds from my starting weight so I'm pretty damn happy with this :)
Make it happen.
This just exemplifies trail runs to me. If you haven’t done one - please find a place to do it - don’t wear the gamin, don’t worry about the time - be a child again. Explore, run as fast as you can, run as slow as you want - jump onto rocks, slide down banks - just live. Show yourself what running can really bring - that primal happiness that can only be found in nature.
That looks so fun..
Well, this is delightful.
Might give this a go and any others challenges that I find.
follow for fitness :)
