This is incredibly upsetting to me.
I don’t want to come across as mean or rude, but ever since I first posted this I keep getting notifications of people getting upset over this picture, and saying things like “that’s no way to live”, “the government should do something about this”…etc.
Does no one realize the picture was taken on a lean? The houses are built on a hill, they actually stand straight up. The photographer has been VERY bloody clever, and turned their camera to make the road look horizontal.
The houses are perfectly sound, perfectly vertical. So take a deep breath, calm down, and appreciate the creativity in this piece of photography.
lol more people need to go to san francisco , actually don’t…. we don’t want you

“Finally, a Reason”
For all of her 19 long, arduous years on this Earth, Madison Bancroft has hoped that she projected an aura of mystery… a cynical world weariness well earned over a lifetime of hardship and struggle.
Unfortunately, she has grown up in the suburbs, to a happily married upper-middle-class couple who always tell her she can be anything she wants and that they love her, and simply has had too pedestrian and easy of a life to pull off the moodiness she strives for. Blast it all!
So as she watches the alien attackers fly in over the purple hills from the view of her childhood home’s spacious wrap-around deck, all Madison can do is smile… FINALLY, this is her chance to have something actually bad happen. FINALLY, there is a reason.
Unfortunately again for young, striving-to-be-dark Madison, the rest of the world is going through the same alien invasion, so once more her experiences are pedestrian and not resulting in the “seen it all, been through worse” demeanor she hopes for.
Ugh!!

Gottfried Helnwein Retrospective Exhibition Albertina Museum, Vienna Exhibition opening: May 24th, 2013 - October 13th, 2013 “Well, the world is a haunted house, and Helnwein at times is our tour guide through it. Not all of Gottfried’s work is on a canvas. A lot of it is the way he’s approached life. And it doesn’t take someone knowing him to know that. You take one look at the paintings and you say “this guy has been around.” You can’t sit in a closet - and create this. This level of work is earned. As an artist my strongest reaction to Helnwein’s work is that it challenges me to be better at what I do. There are very few people that achieve utter excellence in what they do. And I think that Gottfried Helnwein is certainly one of those people.” - Sean Penn

Any Animal That Touches This Lethal Lake Turns to Stone
There’s a deceptively still body of water in Tanzania with a deadly secret—it turns any animal it touches to stone. The rare phenomenon is caused by the chemical makeup of the lake, but the petrified creatures it leaves behind are straight out of a horror film.
Photographed by Nick Brandt in his new book, Across the Ravaged Land, petrified creatures pepper the area around the lake due to its constant pH of 9 to 10.5—an extremely basic alkalinity that preserves these creatures for eternity.
It’s lake Natron in Tanzania where small animals were trapped in viscous mud and are mummified, nearly petrified by the huge levels of salinity and alkaline water
She’s in the mirror like “what up beautiful, I’m so happy to see you!”

KORB. CCTV Documentary (Director’s Cut).
Motion sculptures for CCTV Documentary Channel is a digital metaphor of phenomenal blinks and moments that life consists of. In four Idents we follow a visual performance of organic and vital substance, animated using data of actors movements. Idents visualize four different themes. To emphasize the emotion of each Ident, we have decided to use different textures of steel, wood and glass. Motion sculpture of steel reflects old Chinese adage that true power is mastering yourself. Youthful energy of dancers evolve into beautiful organic sculpture. Colorful happiness is the engine of father’s and his daughter’s joy. Two lovers visualize fragility and vitality of love in the last Ident.
