NoHeeps Performance Freestyles
NoHeeps Performance Freestyles is a raw, street-rooted visual series that captures the pulse of Bulawayo’s underground hip-hop scene. In its first season, NoHeeps shot and released seven freestyle episodes, collectively titled NoHeeps Performance Freestyles. Five episodes received official releases, while two did not get a formal rollout but remain available on the NoHeeps YouTube page, preserving the full spirit of the project.
Shot across the city of Bulawayo, the series blends gritty street views with uncompromising lyricism. Each rapper performs into a dangling microphone, turning everyday urban spaces into improvised stages. The format strips hip-hop back to its essentials voice, bars, and environment, while spotlighting the city that shaped the sound.
The first season features L.A.B, Yunkay, Chriss J.P, Chiko Satana, and Dirty Dolla$ign, representing a cross-section of Bulawayo’s homegrown underground talent. Together, the episodes have accumulated approximately 10,000 views, signaling growing interest in authentic, locally driven hip-hop content. More than just freestyles, the series stands as a visual archive of Bulawayo’s rap culture, energy, and street identity.
