“What world do you live in?” Lucien’s world was survival, he had always been aware that one misstep could end everything and so he was the best servant his father could ask for in order to extend his time as long as he could before the inevitable happened. He’d die and then whenever his father’s long wait of a plan was put into fruition he would likely be raised as a mindless servant.

Okay but Lucien probably doesn’t like being near Hades even more than he dislikes being around most people if only because mortals who try to avoid death tend to not be on the god of the underworld’s good side and while Lucien hasn’t avoided death his father has.

Lucien hesitated in responding, unsure if he was even being addressed. His experience with ancient, god-like beings was probably better than most people but this wasn’t his father who he knew how to act around. Silence could be worse than saying the wrong thing. “I have no clue,” he spoke, deciding that it was safer to seem uninvolved than to say something aloud that would make the other mad at him or not say something at all.
