Futurama
haven’t seen it much commented on how the creature speaks with a yorkshire accent because he learnt to talk from listening to david bradley. which is so fucking cool. and also is in stark contrast to how victor speaks, with a much more ‘high class’ posh southern accent. love that they had a yorkshire man play the old blind man who has nothing and lives in a hovel, yet treats the creature with kindness and without prejudice, and had oscar isaac affect a fancy highfalutin accent and come from a big estate with charles dance playing his father.
(oh but also de lacey is where the creature learns of literature - ozymandias and paradise lost among others - whereas victor, his creator, had the patience to teach him nothing. knowledge and understanding is not limited to the upper classes!!)
wow… this is just like that ayo edebiri tweet, but real life
