Line Editing Plans

After developmental editing, what comes next? Line editing. Is it too soon to be planning out my editing process when I'm still in the developmental stage? It's just a little habit of mine. I keep plotting ahead with things. Anyway, I might go with ProWritingAid. I did get one bit of feedback when I was going to look on Reedsy for copyediting. She said this,

"It’s great that you already have developmental editing covered, that’s an important foundation. For copyediting, I’d focus less on the platform itself and more on finding an editor who understands your genre, audience, and the level of polishing your manuscript needs. Tools like ProWritingAid can be helpful, but they usually work best as a support tool rather than a replacement for a human editor who can catch context, tone, and consistency issues.

I’ve seen authors get the best results when each editing stage has a clear purpose and the right person handling it. A good copyeditor should help strengthen the manuscript while preserving your voice.

Reedsy has some experienced professionals, but I’d still recommend reviewing samples and previous work before deciding."

I need to think about what I need to do and focus on the developmental stage while I'm waiting. And still writing.

Right now, Thorned Garden is in the developmental editing stage. What happens after that? Well, as the standard editing process goes: developmental, line, copyediting, and proofreading. One Story is Done. What Now?

So I finished Ophelia Lucifer. What do I do now? Wait for edits. Work on Thorned Blossoms, Black Tea Leaves, and my 31-Day Writing Challenge. (This week will be Brave Soldier, Wondering is Falling/Wonderland is Burning, Stone of Light, Thorned Blossoms, Pin Up, and Red Sash Books.) Oh, and there will be another Wasteland side story posted on Thursday.

There might be some site maintenance in the process too. (Ugh! Damn you, Lycos! You could've at least let us download the files from Angelfire and Tripod before you randomly decided to shut them down. Screw you! That's how I feel about it.

So Good to be Home

I got home three days ago and I am as happy as I can be. I started the 31-Day Writing Challenge on Wednesday. It's going well so far. I'm on Day 5 with the word "punishment". Guess I know what I am adding to Thorned Blossoms today.

Speaking of which, I'm still waiting on the edits for Thorned Garden. The first quarter will be here soon. I will just be patient and keep working. With Blossoms, I am about to wrap up a crucial chapter before I get onto today's writing challenge. The book will get another day for the writing challenge as well.

On the Wasteland front, Black Tea Leaves is going great. I'm up to the second match and I'm just letting the words flow. Ophelia Lucifer's final chapter will be this week as well. It's been a difficult ride to finish, but I will get it done.

So this week will be Housewife's Secret, Red Bull, Stone of Light, and a couple more that I will try to match up with the prompts.

This should be a wild ride.

I Can't Wait to Get Home

I have three more days until I get home. I still haven’t gotten my edits yet, but they will be here soon. I can’t wait to get started. I even totaled up how much the first quarter will cost me. Vacation is About Over

I can't wait to get back home. I have been getting some work done. I have started on season fifteen of the Wasteland Project. (The first match of Black Tea Leaves will premiere tomorrow.) I am still waiting on my edits for Thorned Garden, but those will be in soon. Ophelia Lucifer will be done in a couple of weeks.

Oh, and I will be starting another 31-Day Writing Challenge on Wednesday for July. What will I start with? You will have to stick around and see.

Off to a Rough Start, but I'm Bouncing Back

I got sick yesterday and didn’t get much done. Today, I am playing catch-up. So far, I have been making some good progress. I’m just about done with fixing the finished sections on my site. After that, I will still have work fixing my site. The question is what’s going to happen next. I think I could work on sections when I am updating the stories that they came from. Vacation Here We Go!

I will be spending the next ten days on vacation. But that doesn't mean the work will be stopping. I will get (hopefully) straight to work on my edits for Thorned Garden. I can't wait to get the first quarter finished. That's not all that I have to look forward to.

The Wasteland, she is coming! Production will start on Saturday with Black Tea Leaves. The first chapter will be posted on the Monday after next. It will be the start of the fifteenth season, baby! I've missed the Wasteland so much. It's been too long. I can't wait to dive back in!

Ophelia Lucifer's first book will end next month. I like the idea, but it's a bit hard to write to tell you the truth. I will have to see how I feel next year. I might even go as far as to work on another side story for the Wasteland Project if time permits. I will still be working on Thorned Blossoms as well. I can't wait to get to some chapters that I want to write. I have been sitting on some ideas for quite some time now and they have to come out. And I can't wait for them to!

I will make time to work for the next ten days.

Good News at Last!

So, my laptop couldn't be saved. The shop couldn't stop it from crashing. They narrowed it down to either the motherboard or the CPU. It wouldn't be worth the money to replace them. So, I had that one recycled and ordered a new one. It should be here in the middle of night week. I can't wait!

Also, I (hopefully) get the first quarter of my edits for Thorned Garden tomorrow. I can't wait to get started!

What else is there? Just the usual with Ophelia Lucifer. Plus, there's going to be another Wasteland side story coming on Friday.

I Can't Take This Anymore!

That’s it! I’ve had it with this laptop! I’m tired of it crashing when it boots up. It gets stuck in an irql_not_less_or_equal boot loop. It crashes at random. It reboots at random when I am away from it for a few minutes. The quick repair either crashes or it can’t fix the problem. I tried everything with no luck! I’ve turned to Google several times and tried what they suggested, but I’m still…

Just Two More Weeks...

Two more weeks before I go back to editing. I can't wait! I might end up doing some of it on vacation. I will have to see. It will be at least one chapter a day. Again, I will have to see.

I'm still working on Ophelia Lucifer. I'm still working on Charon Diaries. I'm just about done with that story. On Saturday, there will be a new Wasteland side story posted. It will be for Seiji's birthday.

That's about it for this week. I'm still fixing my site. I'm making progress but it will take a while. And maybe I might do something else on a whim. I will have to see how I feel. (I say that a lot, don't I?)

Tomorrow Will be June

Where has the month gone? It will be June tomorrow. What do I have planned for you lovely people? On the last Monday of June, season fifteen of the Wasteland project begins. We will start with Black Tea Leaves. I can't wait to get back to the Wasteland. I do have a little bit of the first part written already due to April's writing challenge. Even though I will be on vacation around that time, I will still have it posted and ready to go. I can't wait!

I will wrap up season eight of the Night Hawks Files this week. (Eight seasons. Wow. I had no idea.) Still going to be working on Ophelia Lucifer. That's not going to be finished until July. I'm going to post a new chapter for the Charon Diaries. I'm also finishing up Earth Child for the season. Plus, there are two side stories to add to the Wasteland Side Story collection. (They are for Seiji and Masaomi's birthdays.) Once those are posted, I will work on the ones for July. I might be working on some random shorts and chapters this month too.

And of course, there will be the edits for Thorned Garden. I will be getting the first quarter. I can't wait to get started on it. While I do that, I will still be working on Thorned Blossoms as well.

There's going to be so much work in June. I can't wait to get started.

Another Plot to Try Out

I decided to write a Wasteland story next Friday. It will be another Facebook save I have been sitting on for quite some time. Just anything to fill up that Friday when working between Night Hawks and Ophelia Lucifer. Speaking of which, Night Hawks will be wrapping up in June. Other than that, it will be business as usual.

And more waiting.

I will just have to see what I am going to do in June after that. (Aside from edits, of course.) Still, I can't believe that May is about over. Damn!
