Social Awareness feat. Generation Y
Society nowadays isn’t what it was a decade ago. People change and so does the society they live in. The problems that our grandparents experienced with our parents aren’t the same that our parents experience with us. Social Media has transformed the entire world into a global village where people can interact freely with their dear ones located remotely via merely a few clicks or taps. While this steeply rising trend has affected all and sundry, its impact on the lives and times of the modern-day youth has been maximum. Younger generations must have readily available tools enabling their full participation in decision‑making arenas to better shape a brighter future for all. Gen - Y : Responsive to Societal Causes -
Every generation feels that it's at the epitome of human progress & morals and often the younger generations look down upon the older one thinking they are technologically backward and the older looks down upon the younger generation saying they are stupid or not so wise. Soon, it’s going to be a world of Generation - Y only and the youth of today has greater millennials set up for themselves, than anyone else. They want to change their society, change their way of life, and they obviously place their expectations on businesses. Today’s generation believes in the freedom of speech and knows very well how to utilize their speech potential at their best. Today's time of online expression: Expression through writing your art. The youth today believes in the Shayari..expressing through Shayari, consuming the latest affairs through Shayari like NOJOTO - a network-based online writing platforms, famous for its Shayari Sangrah in all the formats. Youngsters are always updated with the news through these applications, knowing about all that there is to know and consume the world - for the world. And that might well push the latter to change, at last. According to a survey conducted by Global Tolerance, 62% of young people want to work only “for companies and organizations that seek to deliver a positive environmental and social impact”. They would be 84% who consider a company’s sustainable development policy as an essential purchasing criterion. Millennials are now looking for companies that make an effort to protect the environment, reduce their greenhouse gas emissions, and promote ethics and equity. And 75% of Generation Y’s young people consider it important for a company to “pay its debt to society”. Nothing comes onto a silver platter. All I mean is that nothing will happen if the youths don't work to accomplish their role. Education is the most important. For one to gain skills, innovations, and knowledge you must study to fit in this society. So apart from the above roles of the youth, youths also have a role to study since it is the key to success and development. Youth also have to seek information from the middle-aged and the senior citizen groups concerned with various disciplines to ensure that the youth achieve their role for the society in the future.
Demotion by the elder generation -
Society perceives Generation Y as being irresponsible. It is also important for members of Generation Y to become aware of their own attitudes towards their responsibility development in childhood to help remove the negative labels society has placed on them. Our generation is perceived as focusing on our sense of self rather than maintaining the responsibilities of our family role. This perceived misinterpretation of Generation Y is the basis of our journal problem. Some young representatives describe how they are already involved in development efforts, with some calling for further action to make them true agents of change. Youth engagement across the nation and global processes had become a tradition, with young people having an important role to play in mobilizing their local communities to initiate action that would contribute to achieving the societal issue growth, believes the youth of the country. Including youth at all levels of decision‑making is crucial for fostering positive social change and creating sustainable societies. Young people are the energized group bubbling with enthusiasm. And one's potential can be utilized fully during their youth. If this enthusiasm and ideas are regulated and utilized in a proper way, then the youth can create a revolution that will shape the world in a positive way.
Millennials : an altruistic generation -
The new generation of millennials is confronted with many great crises that must be addressed in our lifetimes, many of which affect the future of humanity. We, as millennials, have been left a great economic burden in the form of our staggering national debt that will most likely be passed onto our generation, the perennial threat of international terror, high youth unemployment, a cascade of foreign policy crises and, perhaps most urgently, the issue of climate change. While some people might view our generation as too immature, and perhaps naïve, there is a great burden of responsibility that has been placed on our shoulders without our choosing. And yet, we will have to be the ones to face these great challenges. Rarely is such a burden placed on a cohort of people. This is why our generation should be known as Generation Responsibility. For some Millennials, they're content with selling their skills to the highest bidder. That means unlike Boomers, they're not as loyal. In most cases, they have no problem jumping from one organization to another. That's not to say that you can't motivate this generation because you can by offering skills training, mentoring, feedback. Culture is also extremely important for Millennials. They want to work in an environment where they can collaborate with others. Flexible schedules, time off, and embracing the latest technology to communicate are also important for Gen-Y. Millennials also thrive when there's structure, stability, continued learning opportunities, and immediate feedback. If you do offer monetary rewards, they prefer stock options.
Since the youth hold an important part of our society's future, they need to be educated, guided, encouraged, advised, taught and shown the way to go so as to make sure that we achieve our dreams and visions. We should not our culture as a society fade away thus our elders have to teach us what is to be done and what not to be done. So it is everyone's duty, especially the middle-aged and senior citizens to guide as because the future of our society lies in our hands. I have mixed feelings about how our generation will deal with the crisis we face. I am optimistic that we will be able to become more fiscally responsible than our parents’ generation, but I am troubled by our lack of initiative in addressing climate change and naiveté about global affairs. Perhaps this is a passing phase, a period that all young people go through. In conclusion, the role of the youth in nation-building is very crucial. They are problem-solvers and have a powerful positive influence over the other young people. So the youths can make their beautiful land flourish and shine in success.
