Dean wasn’t shocked by hearing a question of WHAT are you escape someone’s mouth, hell he had even let it slip from his own a few times in the past. As a hunter, he was familiar with all the things going bump in the night not being human, however, someone asking HIM what he was? Not something he was used to. He couldn’t help but smirk as he turned to answer the question, “Okay, first of all, I am not a WHAT, sweet cheeks, I am a WHO. Does that answer your question? and hey what exactly are YOU to be asking ME what I am, huh?” He assumed human considering creatures that were ‘whats’ didn’t like being referred to as ‘what’s. His tone full of mock annoyance yet full of curiosity as he furrowed his brows in observation. 

rose raised an eyebrow, shaking her head at the man. she wasn’t revealing anything to a stranger until she knew exactly who and what he was. she had a queen to protect, and she took her job very seriously. “not a chance. i asked you first, so you tell me why you act like a guardian while you’re clearly completely human, and i’ll tell you what i am.” she replied, grateful that she wasn’t a moroi. dhampirs passed for humans all to easily to anyone who wasn’t part of their world.

Beverly, at the end, had confronted her fears. To begin with, she hadn’t so much of them, that was why she was still ALIVE to tell her tale. Fear was the key, and they had defeated their monsters by not holding any, they had each other, they weren’t afraid. Here, in 2018 Washington DC when she was supposed to be going to Portland, 1989, perhaps she should’ve been a little s c a r e d, but she was coping. Trying to move on and deal with it, she had been a SURVIVOR for too many years already. She was safe here, from all the demons of her past, and she was glad for that, embracing the modern age, f r e e d o m like a bird poised to fly with no fears or regrets.

“I figure this is good a way as any to meet new people,” The girl commented with a DARING tug of her brow upwards, pulling out a small box from her pocket with a flip of the lid, presenting neat and orderly cigarettes to the person by the side of her, “So go ahead, take one. I’ve heard that there’s some controversy ‘round them these days, but I’ve never minded” Eddie, if he were here, would probably roll out a list of some danger or germ surrounding them, but he wasn’t here, none of the Losers were, just h e r. She’d never exactly been a social butterfly back home, never ACCEPTED, but she figured here was a fresh start, no harm in making small conversation to begin with.
