Hey mate, just had a quick question. i'll be having my top surgery with Yelland in a little over a month and i was wondering about something specific, this is a question i'v never seen an answer to and one i'd really like to know about and that is regarding underwear during the surgery. Are you allowed to keep your underwear on underneath your gown for the surgery? I'm super uncomfortable with the idea not having anything on during my surgery and would like to know. cheers

Yes. I asked at the pre op. Just make sure it doesn't have buttons or anything special on it. 100% cotton is your safest bet.

Yes I am pleased. The problem I have is the bulge above my contracted right scar. Taken out of the context of the show you don’t get ANY of the back story about her self-confidence issues over facial scars, or any of the positive things about her personality or achievements etc. Cynical comments about this 14 year old end up then bordering on cyber bullying which ruins the positive message of this show and makes me wish tumblr were a person so i could punch it in the face. Even if they do consent to being on TV it’s still no excuse to shame her.

I’ve actually really enjoyed Educating Yorkshire - partially because I’m from Yorkshire and I went to school there and my mum works in a school there and thus I have a huge personal connection to the issues in the programme, partially because it actually shows the story behind a lot of the pupils. I don’t think it’s fair to take stuff like this out of context to make some snide comment about the pupil in question, especially given that she’s only 14.

And let’s be honest, this is based on her perceived social class and on her being a Northerner and on the misogyny of ‘look at those crazy teenage girls’. All other factors being equal, I highly, highly doubt a middle-class Southern boy would come in for the same widespread mocking for doing something a lot of other people in his demographic do that seems daft to an outsider.

I feel the need to add to my void of emotion post, I don't actually mind it at all. I quite like feeling calm. What I don't like is how completely alien it seems to be to other people and the fact that I don't understand why it's changed. If I could solve both of those things, I'd be happy like this.
