As an exchange student to Korea University, Â I noticed that there is a lack of recommendations for restaurants in the Anam area. So then, whatâs a hungry KU student gonna choose? Simply put, for the first few days I was in Korea I lived off of GS25 Kimbap. Not too bad, but the sooner you get to know all the delicious food Anam has to offer, the better.
So hereâs my list of some of the best restaurants, cafes, and bars youâll find in Anam! The neighborhood is constantly changing, just like the rest of Korea, so if you find this blog post and come to find that the restaurant no longer exists, first let me know! I love knowing what has changed and replaced the old, second Anam is missing out these places were a go to!

Bars
TLC: Yâall, donât sleep on TLC if you like to drink and appreciate a good cocktail! This bar isnât necessarily tiny, they just donât have that many tables. So often times, if you will be drinking on the weekends get here early and save a table! Letâs talk atmosphere, this bar is pretty casual and slightly romantic. Itâs very low-lit and the main source of light comes from a Beyonce concert that is always on re-run? Itâs not a rowdy bar either, where you play Korean drinking games, so keep that in mind. The best thing about this bar is the happy hour special! You can get 3 big and STRONG cocktails for only 10,000won or $10. My favorites, Kakaotalk, Cuba Libre, and Oppa! Donât Go Home (yes that was the drinks name lol)
[ Storytime ] One night my friends and I are out for a lit night, thereâs 5 of us and we each ordered 3 cocktails to drink for ourselves. As the bartender brings us 15 cocktails which need to be strategically placed on the small square table, we realize our crackhead antics. The happy hour special is meant to be shared among 3 friends ( they wonât stop you by any means if you order 3 for yourself), but looking around at the other tables we quickly realised we pinned ourselves as lowkey alcoholics oh well~

ì¶ì (Choonja): Oh Choonja, my messy love. If you go to Korea University and attend the University Buddy Assistant dinners and after partyâs youâre likely to end up in Choonja at least once.
Atmosphere:This place is messy, but makes you fall in love with it. Itâs a classic, rowdy, kinda dirty bar, where you sit around round metal tables, siting on stools knowing youâre in for a long night of soju and games. The bathrooms get rough throughout the nights, so if youâre weak of stomach beware. Tables fill quickly too! This is everyoneâs hot spot because the soju tonic (fresh soju with fruit flavoring and tonic) is so good, drinks aren't too expensive, and everyone has an amazing time! You can order lots of diffrent foods to go along with your soju too. I recommend the yogurt soju tonic or mango soju tonic and kimchi jigae.

Sorry I've been mia guys! Finals week was a hot mess and then I moved and started a new job. Iâm finally settled in again, and back to giving you guys content about Korea (and some aesthetics)^^
