"Sometimes loneliness is not the absence of people, but the absence of someone who truly understands your pain."
An absence that lingers.
Cheesecake (his side)
by Namu
I had a name tucked deep inside,
but she was the one who stayed that night.
Blueberry mine, her Biscoff sweet,
two borrowed hearts, one evening brief.
She laughed at things I let pass by,
sang softly like the world was shy.
I never paused to read her eyes—
just shared the night, then let it slide.
No promises, no plans to make.
To her, it meant a little ache.
To me, it was a fleeting break—
and sometimes, I forget
the cheesecake.
Ice Tea
Some don’t break your heart in two—
they leave behind a quiet hue.
You never promised, never lied,
but still I stayed, still hoped inside.
Late nights with you felt warm, not right—
not love, but something close to light.
You let me laugh, you let me sing,
and kissed my head like it meant a thing.
We never spoke of what was real,
but I kept waiting just to feel.
Your feelings never found the room,
while mine lit corners full of gloom.
They filled the cracks, the quiet air—
I gave too much, you weren’t there.
Each glass we poured, so cold, so sweet—
our little world with aching heat.
You drank it first, said it was new—
but it was always me, not you.
We stirred, we sipped, we didn’t say
that all of this would slip away.
Now you’re a name I never call,
a ghost that doesn't haunt at all.
You’ve left the city, left the thread—
but linger still inside my head.
I make ice tea to feel you near,
but it just tastes like you're not here.
And every song that once felt small
now sounds like me—
and says it all.
“What I Never Said”
by Namu
I liked you more than I let show,
But you were scared, so I stayed low.
I matched your pace, I dimmed my light,
To keep you close, I lost my fight.
I joked like it was all just fun,
But counted stars when you were gone.
You said, “Don’t fall,” and so I stood,
Pretending cold felt just as good.
I played it cool, I played it smart,
But silence bruised my quiet heart.
You came at two and kissed my face,
I let it mean some kind of grace.
We cooked, we danced, we sang off-key,
But none of that was real to we.
It wasn’t love — I won’t pretend —
But I still hoped you’d stay till end.
You left so smooth, without regret,
Like I was easy to forget.
And I just smiled, like I’d moved on,
But part of me still sings your song.
I never said the words out loud,
But in my chest, they screamed so proud.
And now you’ll never really know—
I liked you soft, I let it grow.
So here’s my truth, in rhyme and thread:
I miss the things I never said.
The Quiet Goodbye
I smiled as if I’d be just fine,
Waved like you were barely mine.
But every step you took from me
Felt like a page torn quietly.
You hugged me soft, said, “Take good care,”
And I just nodded, standing there.
Pretending peace, while deep inside,
Something tender curled up to hide.
I watched you go — no drama, no plea,
Just whispered, “Don’t forget me.”
But I think you did before you left,
Like I was just a passing breath.
I didn’t chase, I didn’t call,
Just watched you vanish, that was all.
No final word, no backward glance,
No pause to give my heart a chance.
And maybe that’s the way it ends —
Not with a fight, but losing friends.
Not with a storm, or loud goodbye,
Just silence where the truth will lie.
Gonna chill out the rest of May and then change my entire life in June. Possibly July if that doesn't work out. Certainly no later than September or October.

Let people lose you. Let people be wrong about you. Learn to leave well enough alone. Often, the greatest peace is not found in correcting others. It's found in correcting yourself, accepting the lessons, and knowing when to walk away.
