Felt like writing, so here I am. :) lol
Right now, I’m reading The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde. It’s making me think many thoughts, even though the most prevailing one is that it is very white. Very, very white. Because honestly, so far (60 pages in) The book is about art and the perception of art, which is only really ever written about by motherfuckers who have the time for it. If the servants, who are briefly but so frequently mentioned in the book, had as much time in the world as Dorian, Henry, and Basil seem to have I am sure they would also ponder on such useless thoughts. How vain can a person get that they must wonder how much their own vanity can be inflicted onto others? I guess, what I am really curious about is how the book will reveal to me a subtlety of life that would have otherwise never been a problem had I not sought out to think on my own. How much am I suffering or willing to suffer in order to feel enlightened? Who knows man, all I really know is that art, literature, love. These are all universally cherished, and I am willing to read a “white” book to make myself feel better about feeling vain. How ironic.
I am sitting here writing about a piece of art because I AM one of those motherfuckers who has the time for it. Goofy.
