Character in general: Well, I mean, we all know how I feel about Merlin. I still haven’t seen TGC but when I do I think I’ll just casually go divergent from canon. I love Glowy’s portrayal. It feels so natural and so MERLIN, even when breaching non-canon territory like ocs and other details. Every headcanon is so casual but hints at things being very thought-out.
Writing: Alright, tangent time. In general, I’ve been writing for a long time. I’ve been reading other writer’s material for even longer. As a result, I’m very picky about narration styles. It doesn’t matter how original something is or how it revamps a genre. If I don’t like the narration style, it’s game over. Glowy, on the other hand, has a narration style that is just. so. GOOD. I adore poetic and flowey narrations. I love narrations that peek into the character’s thoughts rather than say them outright. I just love it.
RP-wise: I feel like I bother Glowy too much with all of my ship rants and tagging and everything. It’s difficult for original characters to get anywhere in tumblr, and somehow I’ve struck gold. I was very careful when first approaching the whole Merlin and Sera thing, and I still can’t believe my rambling convinced Glowy to ship it as well. We’ve both been played, unfortunately, because the HMS Merlin/Sera is a ship that’s doomed to a long, tragic journey. Still, we’re both determined to reach that lovely destination of them actually admitting their feelings for each other. Someday, anyway.
Overall opinion: Every time something new is posted on noneedforguns, I like to think that Mark Strong gets a warm feeling in his chest knowing that, somewhere, someone is doing Merlin justice. Especially since Matthew Vaughn ruined everything.
