where is that post about how the majority of people have been falsely led, by movies and tv shows and books and shit, into thinking that being able to recall random facts = You're Smart. it's not just people online but like most of the people I know in general both online and actually especially offline think this and it is driving me fucking crazy. you are not intelligent just because you can remember random bullshit that no one cares about I'm sorry. can you show me how you approach a debate without screaming at the other person. oh you can't. how do I tell you this
you can't approach a conversation without leading with a personal anecdote, not only that but you're using the personal anecdote as a point of debate and something to bolster your opinion. you are not offering your experience to the conversation for the purpose of learning with others but to shut others down. you call out fallacies because you memorized the yourlogicalfallacyis infographic, but you don't know how to restructure someone's argument because you have deemed their idea as "stupid" and refuse to understand them on that basis. like you are actually just a cog if you think like this

Reblog this and tell me what was your biggest crying over a piece of fiction. You can be vague if you don't want to spoil.
