Listen if you’re not watching the show Pitch, you really should be.

It has: 

diversity: female poc lead, multiple african american characters in both the team and her family, hispanic male as the general manager of a national league team, etc

sports background but its not the main focus, the characters & their relationships with each other are

deals with issues and things like rape culture (literally says the words “rape culture”!! on television!!), racism, sexism, feminism, etc

shows examples of real healthy relationships like blip + evelyn, who are happily married and love each other and are still honest with each other

complicated but realistic family dynamics

has both a career driven woman and a stay at home mom and neither are made to feel ashamed for that, and they are both happy with their lifestyles

realistically showed and dealt with a character having a panic attack and compassionately being given help with it

also has its funny and clever moments

and plot twists (that will prob make you cry) 

positive female friendships!!!!

positive male friendships!!!

positive male/female friendships that don’t turn into anything romantic!!!

if you’re into shipping though, there’s plenty to work with
