PCA/ACA Panel
Thank you to everyone who came to the PCA/ACA panel on Thursday. Unfortunately, SB couldn’t be there, but I (HC-B) was humbled and heartened to see so many of you come out to hear about YA and YA. We’d love your questions and comments!

Chat Transcripts: Humble Beginnings

I am so sorry I am being such a nightmare. I know I have to be pissing you off.

you're not a nightmare.
it's okay.
The Chat Transcripts Tag
In this tag, we’ll be posting selections from our G-chat transcripts that show our process of writing the chapter. It seems a little self-indulgent, but it shows that we “practice what we preach.” Since our chapter is about collaboration, we are offering up our own collaboration. Since we talk about overcoming insecurity, we expose our own insecurities. In fact, the very first two words of the transcript is Holly saying “I’m sorry.”
We’ll be presenting with our colleagues at the Popular Culture Association/American Culture Association in New Orleans! Awesome. If you’re in the area, you should come watch SB and HC-B talk about comics.
It’s us! We’re in there! Yay!
From the archives, also known as The Bottom of My Old Purse: the very beginnings of a draft. Two pages of notes we created sitting on long benches at Fassler Hall one April afternoon. Yes, I (Beam) wrote these and, yes, I date all documents.
So we wrote a thing. And we’re gonna share how we made it.
(This is Sara, btw.)
We promised to share notes about the writing process, chat transcripts, and outlines of the essay.
The essay collection that our paper about Gillen, McKelvie, et al.’s The Young Avengers run will appear in is still in the works. I’m helping to edit the entire collection right now at a coffee shop in mid-America--Oklahoma, specifically. Literally listening to Starship’s “Nothing’s Gonna Stop Us Now” on the actual radio.
P.S. Also: hell yeah I AM wearing purple for Spirit Day.
