When people ask why I love Moomin I usually tell them the story about the girl that was so verbally and emotionally abused by the woman that took care of her - that she became invisible.  And then the Moomin family took her in, and by being kind and compassionate towards her, she gradually became visible again.  And if that isn’t one of the most beautiful childrens stories I’ve heard then I don’t know what is.
