picking up a 10 year old anime, reading its manga, and then making a fan art of it was not on my 2025 bingo list...
drawing this made me reminisce the 2014/2015 tumblr days so much, I didn't know anything about Noragami back then, but seeing posts of it on my dashboard made me remember it fondly!
Dropping this random genshin impact speculation here because no one follows me on twitter 😣 (follow me pls)
So (6.3 spoilers btw)
I guess it's kind of widely accepted nowadays that Dottore is pretty much still alive (or something similar) and that we will eventually get a more proper Scara vs. Dottore when he decides to act again. We're all also kind of hoping the devs didn't lie or change their plans after saying the burning Irminsul WILL happen eventually.
There was a pretty intense foreshadowing for Scara "transcending fate" in Durin's SQ, as well as him even implying he would have liked being a hero. And now with his core having even a seed shape... The idea of him trying to save the Irminsul tree from the fire and probably even sacrificing himself seems more and more likely. Planting the seed to save or replace the tree sounds crazy sad and extreme but honestly I kind of see it. We could even say the aranara quest was foreshadowing for it.
Something that really really intrigues me is the many mysteries about Scara. The Khaenri'ahn technology suddenly being shown to Ei, him waking up from his eternal slumber, him waking up from the dream at the meteorite where he saw something totally different from what the others were seeing, him waking up from the coma after we were told disconnecting him from the mecha would mean he would never be able to move on his own again... And I still have no idea how to answer any of this lmao (just the occasional Nicole speculation because hmm she just happens to be a prophetess who was also checking on us after the Irminsul erasure events).
BUT then a random thought crossed my mind. What if he isn't saving the Irminsul but IS the Irminsul? (This is not a theory, is just me thinking "out loud", idk I want someone to talk about it with 🫠)
We have the whole thing with Columbina presenting us some sort of time loop/paradox where her past is also her future and vice versa. Then we also have the Makoto's tree being planted at the Narukami shrine that was perceived in Teyvat like "it had always been there".
This one part of the HoOD lore has always intrigued me:
What if Scara somehow influenced himself and others in the past to be where he is now? What if he's somehow been existing in the past, present and future all this time? What if by using his own core as a seed he manages to save Irminsul, not by replacing it but by merging because all this time it's always been him?
(Does this even make sense? No. Do I want it to happen? No, let him wander around in peace pls)
I do think he will try something to save the tree though. But it might even turn out that saving it isn't even the right thing to do, who knows. Maybe getting rid of it is actually freeing everyone instead of the chaos we might expect...
Anyways I just wanted to let that out of my chest.
Nearing the end of the quest (I don't have the best memory though, so I might be missing some details) one of the aranara we've met, Arama, turns into a seed and grows into a tree. A Vasara tree, more specifically, they contain dreams and memories.
The aranara had many Vasara trees, but there was a main one called Ashvatta, which was being affected by the withering and iirc, Arama became a replacement of this Ashvatta tree.
