Indes grinned wide at the reaction, shooting an amused look of her own in Vilkas’ direction while resisting the urge to burst into laughter at her shield-brother’s expense. Instead, she moved to lean one arm against the tabletop while the other went to her hip.

“I can believe it. You do have one of the biggest mouths in all of Jorrvaskr, after all.” She chuckled, glancing at the rest of the table. “It doesn’t look like you left any for the rest of us. I’m disappointed. I came up here for nothing now.”

Biggest mouths, him? Was she saying that he talked a lot? He nearly spoke up to defend his now slighted honor before stopping himself, remembering his manners. Instead a few moments were spent, hand over mouth, to chew the massive pile of desserts for a few moments before swallowing. He nearly winced as the large amount of sugar dropped into his stomach like an anvil, he was never doing that again.

“Well maybe next time you should be a little faster, you know how quickly Tilma’s desserts are snatched up around here.” He nodded towards the stairs leading to the basement. “You’ve been whittling away at something in your room from what I hear, what exactly are you working on in there?”

“Herryk. I grew up there, remember? And let me tell you that it doesn’t work like that at all.” Indes shook her head, sighing a little under her breath. “I doubt there’s much I could do to convince you, though, is there? Remind me to drag you down there one day in the future so you can enjoy the mud and swamps.”

"There are mud and swamps down there too?” He frowned a bit at that, he got more than his fill of wetlands from Hjaalmarch. Oh well, if it was as hot as the mer claimed then maybe it wouldn’t be so bad. At least he hoped so.

“I wouldn’t mind going there actually, or any of the other provinces outside of Cyrodiil and Skyrim.” He tilted his head a bit. “Would that mean I’d be strictly forbidden from chopping wood or eating plants? I think I heard that’s what the Green Pact is about, something like that anyway.”

“Oh yes, the Gold Coast is very pleasant, but that’s because you get that nice cool air from the sea. Take that out and replace it with hot air even in the shade and trees to block any wind, and you get my beloved Valenwood. And by now the rainy season would be starting, too.”

A sniff. “Well if all that shade’s going to be blocking in the breeze then at least the rain wouldn’t matter that much.” Herryk said with a confidence that he had absolutely no right to. “I’ll bet that hot muggy air wouldn’t even be that bad either!”

Indes came quietly up to the table, motioning for the twins to not let Herryk know she was there. Once he had all the tarts in his mouth and had 'won' his little challenge, the sneakier Bosmer came up behind him, giving him a good, solid pat on his back between his shoulders. "Your appetite never ceases to amaze me."

Once the mer’s hand made contact with his mouth, one of the tarts launched out of his mouth like a loosed arrow to splatter on Vilkas’ nose, much to his brother’s amusement. It was more due to surprise that it happened rather than sheer force, still a little humiliating.

“Hu, I jush brodgk a rehor actuay.” He mumbled, face still full of what Tilma probably intended for everyone to enjoy rather than just the one man.
