It's #ARMYMeansFamily Day today ♥ and what better way to look back and think about what it means to me. You see I have three sisters - in a perfect world people would think that we four are close to the point that we know one another's secrets, dreams and aspirations. It wasn't like that - then. We love each other but we used to value our friends more than we value one another - we seek refuge from friends instead of finding it in one another.. that's not the case now. For the past two years, we all have been through personal struggles and it has proven that in all the trials that you may face in life - family will always be there for you. We've been through different kinds of heartbreaks brought about by different people and circumstances and situations - some heartbreaks were also brought upon to ourselves by one another. But now more than ever, we always catch each other when one breaks - piecing the pieces back together - with tears and some broken pieces of ourselves. Because we see to it that we complete one another, we see to it that the support that we haven't give one another will be given from that day on, we choose everyday to fight for one another. If you would ask me what is the most painful memory for me that I can think of - it's seeing my two younger sisters cry and break in front of me because they can't stop me from crying, because they know that they cannot do anything at the moment to ease my pain. But now I know that it has served its purpose, it was meant to happen so that I will learn to love and value them more. And where does being an ARMY come in place here? Well. I used to be (sometimes I think I still am) a judgmental person, an overthinker and pessimist. If not for the boys opening my mind and letting me think for myself, I wouldn't be able to open my heart to all the good things that life may offer. All the good things in life that can be achieved with love despite the struggles. All the good things that could happen if you could only learn - day by day, every waking moment of your life - to love yourself. Because I know that if I don't love myself, I wouldn't be able to give love to others especially my own family.
