because frankly, we’re almost done paying this character loan off. when it’s all over, we’ll own it, free and clear. and i think our first order of business should be fixin that shit up.

when this train wreck is totally over, and we have peace, i will write, with quinn, the entirety of the story of kattegat hollow out. it will include medical mj growers floki and helga. it will include shoved-into-a-broken-church-as-a-baptist-minister athelstan. strip club owner siggy. back in town rollo. ragnar’s disappearance being jail time. bjorn taking over. lags in hedeby, the nearest big town. gyda the head of the local hospital. thyri not dead. thorunn vying for custody of little siggy from her new home in chicago. the mines slowly killing ubbe as he tries to hold the family together. baseball star hvit slowly sinking into dysfunction with an institutionalized marg. ivar in a motorized wheelchair, with a medical mj card, just shit talking EVERYONE. literally no one knows or gives a rat’s ass where sigurd is because no one likes him anyway. the deputy sheriff being known as the WULF and we ALL KNOW WHY THAT WOULD BE. i have so much. so much.
the true tragedy of this last episode of vikings was the disgusting lack of spoken ubbe and torvi scenes.
but then again, as a dyed in the wool fan of siggy, and thyri, and kwenthrith, and judy, and the entire lindisfarne raiding crew, i’m sadly used to that. also russia is cool, but uh…? what’s the english crew up to? asking for a friend. and when will i get to see rollo? never? mikey, you’re saying never?
but the introduction of erik was actually pretty well done. so kudos for that. and hvit sliding into the same drunken stupor and loss of self and purpose, just like his uncle rollo…hvit needs a siggy. he doesn’t have a siggy. rollo only survived because he had siggy. and even he got that through his rock thick skull in the end.
lag’s end, i know, was rushed and underwhelming for those of you who have championed her for so long. i agree it was rushed, but i’m so, so grateful she’s finally resting and frankly i’m more pleased with the idea that she’ll see gyda again than her seeing ragnar, but that’s just me. the lagertha who had two beautiful little children, and lived a simple life as a wife, farmer, and shieldmaiden with her loving husband is the lagertha i love. what the show turned her into was a ridiculous farce.
and that’s my thoughts on that.

the viking gang fit so easily into the mcu, tho? they’re just asgardians. done. easy peasy. tor is a warrior, not a valkyrie, but a shieldmaiden. siggy is wise and in frigga’s place is adopting thor as her son- also if you WANT a salad, eat a salad, love, otherwise you do what you need to do to get back to how you feel comfortable. thyri’s just a girl about town in new asgard. ylva WANTS to be a shieldmaiden (tor is training her quietly on the dl) but is mostly more like big sis thyri. and the boys are warriors but also ingvar’s mostly into engineering and erik’s mostly a hunter, and looks after his mama’s shop, which sells stuff for the home. interior design kinda. home goods. and that’s what they said about that.
