Idgaf. Destroya is THE most genius song EVER.

Let me tell you why.

First of all the instrumental is just godly, there's so many different interesting parts of the song it's truly incredible. I can't even explain how much i love it.

But it's the lyrics that really get me.

The anti capitalist messages are 👌 perfect. One of my personal favorite lines being "if what you are is just what you own what have you become when they take from you almost everything" like yes. Absolutely. How more awesome could it get? Theres so many lyrics in the song that are pretty much a big 'fuck you' to people who use their money for no good, which I love.

Also the religion aspect, with destroya being robot God. Robot God.. who in the comics gets revived by a lesbian porn robot. And also the "you dont believe in god" line is pleasant to think about, just think about it!

ALSO. THE REFERENCES TO UNSAFE CHEST BINDING MPHGHHSGHS. With the line "with duct tape scars on my honey" in reference to binding with duct tape (something u should NEVER do) and also the action Gerard does with his hands onstage when they sing that line being in reference to top surgery scars. And it's almost even more awesome knowing that those words and actions about transgender men were coming from someone whos never experienced what its like the be a transgender man, all the way back in 2010. Most people weren't very educated about transgender people at the time.. But Gerard sure as hell did their research.

Most of the time when people think of destroya they just think "frerard, haha funny moaning" but OH MY GOD it's so much more than that.

Destroya was truly ahead of its time. Everyone needs to give destroya a listen rn and REALLY dissect it. Because that shit is IMPECCABLE.

there are probably a fair few Magnus fans who are understandably not that familiar with UK geography/accents so I thought this might be an interesting insight to those of you:

Martin has a noticeable northern accent. As in, he is not from London. Alex newall is from Stockport, near Manchester, so Martin probably is from around there too.

Martins mums care home is in Devon. But do not let this lead you to believe he is from Devon. If Martin grew up around Manchester, north-west (as proven by accent), and lives in London, south-east, Devon is a rogue third option, south-west. It is not between London and Manchester. It is not near to or easy to reach from either of these places. Devon is beautiful but the south west is fairly notorious for taking a long time to travel to and from in comparison to the rest of the country (by British people standards at least)

I just think it's interesting that she ended up living somewhere so seemingly removed from both where she raised her son (her only mentioned family), and where he now lives.

Just thought it was something worth noting that might not come across to a non-brit 🧐
