יש לי מרצה שכל כך עמוק בתוך העולם האקדמי שפשוט יש נתק מוחלט לגבי איך שאנשים נורמאלים קוראים ומעבדים מידע. למה כל הסבר צריך להיות כל כך מרוח. למה כל טקסט צריך להיות פשוט בלוק לא קריא של מילים. אנשים באקדמיה מפתחים אלרגיה לרווחים? מה הולך פה. הצורה היחידה שאני מסוגל לתאר את זה זה שהם cum-brained אבל עם מאמרים אקדמים במקום פורנו.

And the aggressive contract color palates, the Microsoft PowerPoint shapes with the 3D effect, the combination of times New Roman and Calibri in the same slide, the ugliest most pixelated screenshot of a screenshot of a screenshot of a diagram from a textbook from 50 years ago that could have easily been replaced with a nicer picture available as the first search result on Google.
I feel these worms invading my brain overtime. The overwhelming desire to give my text boxes outlines with curved corners. Well maybe making the lettering red and curved on a dark blue background is a great idea and will really make this pop. I know it's wrong and yet I am helpless. We are all victims of academia induced design blindness.
A new genre of academic brain rot that has been cropping up is AI generated slides. The professors are feeding their presentations formatted by PowerPoint 2007 into chat GPT and telling it to make the presentation better. Nothing makes sense anymore and everything is just random circles in the corner of a slide with meaningless buzzwords. The circles are burgundy or navy blue, the backgrounds are black or an abstract representation of what the AI decided the presentation is about.
