Reminder: Everything I write is purely fictional and comes from my imagination. None of these situations are real or have anything to do with the players' actual lives.
I am here to confess that I purchased Oni's Arsenal shirt right after the number 22 was confirmed… I know lots of fans here are Arsenal haters, but I just couldn't help myself 😮💨
I want her shirt, but it'll probably be the nt one because I'm not wearing arsenal (at least for now, never say never)
I think Ona will mostly play LB because Sleger isn't the best at rotation and Emily Fox has been the main RB for the last couple of seasons. Might be wrong but that's how I see things atm!
But if Arsenal don't win anything at the end of next season that would be a huge loss for Sleger because they made amazing signings.
I didn't follow Arsenal before, so I have no clue how the team or Renée work. Ona plays well on the left, she can shine there too☺️
I don’t think the post was negative, just a general question. Can’t go against if I had the same question in the back of my mind as well. It’s not negative towards Ona , just a thought.
Yeah, of course. I didn't mean to sound harsh :) I'm excited to watch how Ona adapts to the team, Mariona being already there should make it easier for her
I’m truly happy for Ona, I’m excited she’s so happy and that she’s with a team that will value her talent.
But in the back of my head, I’m thinking about Vic and Lia. Just going over how much they played for their time at Arsenal. Arsenal is good yes and they have so great players but also I just hope they actually let Ona play and not use her for so publicly stunt.
Moving to the wsl is a smart choice. And I think Arsenal wants her to be on the pitch, she is one (if not the best) full back right now
Here is the translation of the last part of Jana's vlog
This has taken me more than 5 hours, so I hope someone finds it useful🥲 And PLEASE, go to the vlog and leave a like and a comment so Jana keeps doing this
Assume that when it’s not specified, I’m referring to Jana’s voice in off. I hope it’s not confusing :)
That's wild! Now that… I’m alone, recording this video with the camera and I start remembering all those moments and the truth is that it’s wild what we lived.

Euros video
And the day of the final arrived
Patri’s friend: In Lausanne, with my girl… (he is making fun of Jana because she is recording)
Jana: How many days are we from the final?
Patri’s friend: I don’t know
J: 😆
Another friend of Patri/Jana: Three
Patri: Three
J: Three days until the final
P: Well, two. Today is -2
J: Today is -2
Patri’s friend: Fuck, it’s -3 for me
J: Hangover post… Hangover post…
P: Semifinal?
J: Post-semifinal hangover?
P: It's passed now. It happened yesterday
J: Yes. But I didn’t record yesterday, man
P: Ah, well, hangover🙂↕️
J: How did it (the game) end yesterday?
P: Cut it, like it was…
J: Explain a bit how it was. How was the match? Tell a bit about it
P: Do I have to explain how the match went?
J: Well, I don’t know… You did play
P: Well, we've run into a Swiss guy. Let's ask him.
Patri’s friend: Again, no?
P: Overtime… We scored in the 114th minute, 13th. Nothing, we celebrated, then it started to rain a lot
J: And today is -2 (until the final), preparing for the final
P: Yes, we train this afternoon
J: I see everyone like really calm. I like it, girl
P: Eager
J: You’re laughing at me but I’m really recording a videoblog
😎 friend: Videoblog number 5
J: I don't know what (number) it must be by now
😃friend: Video number 40
J: I hope quite a few episodes come out.
😃friend: We are here
J: Yeah, well… Maybe not forty, but thirty-something...
P: Photo!
All: 😁😁
J: And me with the camera, you know?
P: Wait! Another one
All (again): 😁😁
P: Hey, one thing. Just as you see her, she also starts talking to herself in the room
😃friend: Right, yeah
J: It was only once, I did that
P: Twice!
😃friend: During the dinner…
(?): Twice
P: Twice!
J: Because… you watched it! You were nosy and you started to watch it
P: It was Cata!
😃friend: And during the dinner…
P: And she told me “No, no. And you haven’t watch more”
😃friend: And during the dinner?
P: During dinner she (Jana) does it too
😃friend: During the dinner in the refuge, what? She was there sitting… Everyone talking and she was “no, here we are… we are…”
J: Yes, because I had to show where were we
Leila: No, girl…
J: Day…
P: Record this way so the Swiss woman (Leila) doesn’t appear
J: Okay, the Swiss woman doesn’t appear
J: We are tw… three days away from playing the final against England
P: England
J: And we are in Lausanne, in a Swiss city…
L: 🤸♀️🤸♀️
J: … where our base camp is and look!
L: 🙋♀️🙋♀️
P: Wouldn't you love to know what a Swiss woman thinks?
L: Wow!
J: Wow! What a coincidence!
L: Wow!
P: How are you experiencing the Euros?
L: Incredible! Amazing!
P: Who… who are you rooting for in the final?
L: Man, Spain, of course
P: That’s it, that’ it!
L: Obviously
P: So, can you give us a word of encouragement?
J: In Swiss! In Swiss!
P: In Swiss! In Swiss!
J: In Swiss-German!
Leila says something in “German” but I’m pretty sure that doesn’t mean anything😝
J: Whose birthday is tomorrow? Whose birthday is tomorrow?
Vicky: If I make it to tomorrow alive, mine. If I don’t make it…🤷♀️
J: And why wouldn't you make it?
V: Because you never know what might happen to you
Someone else says something
V: Exactly
J: If God wants, as my grandma says
V: If I die, you celebrate my birthday, okay?
J: Are you looking forward to turning 19?
V: No
J: And especially not with us, right?
V: Exactly, especially not with you, here… (Irene singing happy birthday in the background) Instead with my friends. When the cake comes you tell me “and let her blow it!” 💃 So that's what you say, okay?
J: Okay, we will
V: I'm really looking forward to finding out what gifts I'll be getting
J: I know what Alexia's going to give you. What you… what you told us about buying it for you in London
Alexia: 😐
V: I don’t think so… I don’t think so because I told her today and she said “holy crap, it’s true”
Cata: Jana, man
Salma: I want the photo of that video, eh
J: Beautiful
Alexia: The video is going to last…
Photographer: Come on. One, two… I think it’s done (the photo)
Maite: Last day 😄
J: In Lausanne
M: In Lausanne, right
Pina: I'll trade you it (the camera) for the trophy
V: I don't just not care. I couldn't give a shit
J: Okay
Pina: Yes?
J: No, because you’ll keep the trophy and the camera, so what do I get out of it?
Pina: You get the trophy
J: Sure, but I still lose
Pina says something about the video
J: Look. This has given us plenty of material for jokes. Come here, Pina, let’s check it out
Pina moves closer and gets a blast of air in the face
J: Hi :)
Ona: Hiiiiiiiiii
J: What superstitions have you had during the Euros?
O: Superstitions? Not to speak to you
Both: 😆😆
J: Okay, now seriously
O: I don’t know
J: Haven't you had any?
Pina: To run…
O: No, that has only happened once. What? Sitting next to you
J: On what?
O: On the bus
J: Ah, that’s right! Well, yes, if that’s a superstition… we sat always together
O: Yes😄 the four of the back
J: Very well
O: What else?
J: Anything else?
O: 🤔🤔
J: I’ll let you think, okay?
O: Okay
J: Hi, have you had any superstitions during the Euros?
Pina: Hi. Many
J: Tell some of them
Pina: 🤔🤔 Step (into the pitch) with the right foot, as always
J: Okay
Pina: That’s an easy one
J: Come here (to Vicky) I’m putting you in the spotlight
Vicky: 🥱🥱
J: What superstitions have you had during the Euros?
Vicky: 🥱🥱
Pina: Falling asleep during the meetings
V: Superstitions?
J: Yes
V: None
J: Haven't you had any superstitions? You're so boring, girl
V: My new superstition, I don’t know if I should call it that, is that… in the last two years, I lost two euros but those same years I’ve won the Champions, which is also an European championship
J: Uh-huh
V: What's up? This year I lost the Champions…
J: So…
Pina: Ah
V: The story continues
J: Dot, dot, dot. Very well, can you think of anything else?
Pina: That… I’ve never been an European champion 🥺
J: It can be your first time
Pina: Yes. We had never won against Germany either
J: Exactly
María Méndez: Hiiiii
J: What superstition… Shhh, Leila, I need… Leila, I need silence. What superstition have you had during the Euros? Did you have any?
María Méndez: 🙂↔️ I’m not very superstitious
J: Very well, you’re so boring. Athe?
Athenea: The thing is, I have a lot of them, but something that really... the little Virgin (I don’t know how these things are called in English, but she is talking about little cards with religious symbols painted on them, like holy cards), the one that the other day… in the pitch… the day against Germany
María Méndez: But…
Athenea: No, but I always carry it with me. But I took it to the pitch because Mery (María Mendez) told me
J: For sure it’s helping us, right?
Athenea: Sure, 100%
J: A superstition during the Euros?
Cristina Martín-Prieto: I’m here as the lucky charm.
J: Ah, okay, you’re the lucky charm. Ah, okay. Sorry
Cristina Martín-Prieto: In all camps I’ve had something, that’s why I’m the lucky charm
J: Patri!
Cristina Martín-Prieto: And you'll never guess… She starts dancing and singing the Macarena
J: Lei! Superstition of the Euros
L: The bandage, this
(?): The bandage!
L: It’s red
P: This plaster
L: It’s not a plaster, girl. In red (the bandage) and a ring, that I’ll tell you about if we win
J: Okay. Patri, one of your millions superstitions?
P: Well… Since I have millions, I'm not going to tell you a single one
(?): Oleee
J: Come on, girl, say one
P: Later you’ll call me a pain
J: Say one, say one
P: I have to…
L: The big toe bandage, girl
P: I just made this right now
J: Say one
(?): A ritual of some sorts?
J: Play the Euros’ song
P: Yes, that can be one
L: Lalala
J: What else?
P: That one, you’ve already said one
J: No, I meant…
P: You’ve already said one. You told me to say one
J: Come on, Patri, think
P: That one, that one, that one. I was just about to say that one
J: Ah! Do you know what we can say? That we bought in Mallorca the same bracelet the four of us
P: A bracelet and it (the tournament) has gone very well
J: And so far it’s gone very well
L: With Ona
J: And we’ve wore it, with Ona and Alexia
L: With Ona
J: And with Ona, you what?
L: Nothing, nothing, girl. With Ona, I’ll let you know if we win
J: Ah, okay, okay. Keep it to yourself
Salma: What’s happening here?
J: What superstition have you had during the Euros?
Salma: None
Vicky: Take that!
J: None? Dude, you’re so boring
Vicky: But she's actually put a roll of toilet paper in the freezer or something like that!
J: We have a very specific playlist with very specific songs with which we go out to the pitch to clown around before the games. Well, we always walk, to see the pitch, right?
Vicky: Yes
J: The grass… We always play the same songs, the four of us with the Airpods, that we are, this lady (Vicky), me, Maite and Salma
- Superstition in question-
Ona doing something with her socks (????)
Now that it’s been a while, the memory I have of how we experienced it, or how I experienced it is of a more or less normal day, within the non-normality of that very important match, right?
J: Did you fall asleep?
Pina: No, but… I wanted a nap and I got karaoke
Alba Redondo: You’ve a documentary…
J: You know? I was just getting everything organized…
J: I was getting everything organized and it’s probably more than four hours, you know?
Alba Redondo and Cristina Martín-Prieto: Wow
Staff: Of short videos of different moments, right?
J: And just wait, there's still the final, right… Now I have to…
As you can see in the video, compared to the previous ones, the atmosphere was the same: tranquility, board games, spending time chatting with the teammates… I think that it’s something that we started doing at the beginning of the camp and we ended up doing at the end too, which was day by day, doing the same things, the same routines. And… with the calm and confidence we had before the match. Obviously it’s a day that brings nerves, the importance of the match, knowing that your whole country, everyone, is watching… but, well, I think that our day-to-day life was very similar to the other 40 days of camp that we had been experiencing
J: I have to record this, because it’s like a lot of coincidence that I got four four four
Mariona: I was going to say…
Maite: Wait, wait, wait.
J: There isn’t…
.🎬🎬🎬
Mariona: I can't imagine the moment when I'll stop seeing Maite every day
J: That’s so nice
Maite hugs Mariona
(?): You're such a drama queen, man
Maite: What are you saying, she’s grown fond of me...
Mariona: What did you say?
Maite: How fond have you grown of me?
(?): A whole lot
Maite: Well… Last dinner
J: Last dinner
Maite: Official… Let’s put it like that
Mariona: Last salmon, last salmon
J: Last salmon, teriyaki, wow
Maite: Mashed potatoes and sweet potato
J: It will be missed. Do you think we’ll miss each other? I think we won’t
Obviously we were also very excited about facing England in such a special match as an Euros’ final. Because of what had happened in the previous Euros, when they were the ones who roused Spain from that dream. So, as I’m saying, with calm, eagerly, with a lot of motivation for what was ahead of us.
Patri: Did you say “people”?
J: Okay
Patri: She’s always recording me
J: Well, yes, because right now… Pina is eating
Leila: With the Swiss woman she always records you
J: Ehm… girls, what moment from this Euros do you remember the most?
- The faces Juan, the faces - (it’s a Spanish expression)
J: Oh my god, my hands’ stability
Pina: I can answer you
J: Wait, wait
Patri: She said she can answer you
J: Ah, yes, tell me
Pina: Well, I hope that we haven’t experienced it yet
J: Uuuu. Okay, very well, very nice. It turned out…
- Let's see how they top that -
Pina: Like in a movie
Patri: Alright then, upload that one
Leila: Retweeted
J: But I'm asking you all, too. Pina has already said hers. If you can choose one
Patri: Something different, that isn't related to football
J: Right, yes, any
Pina: The thing is, I wasn't referring to football
J: Look, for me it would be when we went to the refuge
Patri: Right, me too
J: When we went to the refuge, it was like something… I had such a good time
Leila: Refuge? When did we go to a refuge?
J: It was like… really cool. The day off
Leila: Aah
Patri: I had a good time too
Leila: To the cabins
Ona: Few things are going to top that (“that” meaning the day off, I guess)
Leila: Yes
J: Some matches… I don’t know
Patri: On top of that, the oldest one ended up sleeping in the worst bed
J: Which is it...? What does this Euros mean to you?
Leila and Ona: 🤣🤣
J: Nooo, but tell me. You’ve said it really well now, it’s true
Leila: Oh, I'm getting nervous
J: No, for me, I mean, for me it’s very similar
Leila: No, it is what I have fought so long for, it’s my dream and you never know which one will be the last, so…
J: Totally
Leila: I can’t imagine… I can’t imagine not winning (the final)
J: I feel the same. For me it means the same
Leila: It's just the top…
J: We’re living a dream
Leila: … the most we can aspire to
J: No, and you're right, like, you never know when the last one is going to be
Leila: You never know which one will be the last
J: We have to make the most of it
Leila: Right, then it’s like, I can’t imagine…
J: That’s it
It all started out, for me, recording throughout the whole tournament, all the more off-the-pitch moments, right? More from outside of the pitch… that we had because it was something I wanted to remember, since I can watch the matches whenever I want and relive the whole Euros on the TV. But what was really special for me was having a recollection of what we experienced inside the camp, off the pitch, the moments, the time spent with my teammates. It was truly an incredible experience for me, being able to share it with all of them. With the whole group. It was spectacular. And what started as a small recollection for me, I think in the end, after thinking about it a lot, it was nice to be able to share it with you. Even though obviously the outcome wasn’t the one we wanted. So you can see a little how it was, how we are outside of the pitch. I think that’s also important for us, that you know us a bit better.
Jana screams at Cristina Martín-Prieto
J: Didn’t you get scared?
Cristina Martín-Prieto: No
J: Because you knew I was here, right?
Patri: That too, that too
Laia: In my head, yes
Patri: Whatever…
J: All day, every day. 24/7
Laia: Yess
J: Who won, ue? Here, us
Leila: But… Turn it down, turn it down
J: That’s that
Vicky: And on top of that, with…
Adriana Nanclares: Cheating
Vicky: A lapse on my part
J: Yeah, a lapse, because, girl
Vicky: We could have won four rounds ago
(?): __ (Ro-Ro?) didn’t win?
J: No
Vicky: Eh…
J: On the way to the stadium
V: On the way to the stadium, pre-Euros-final
Alexia really looks like an excited mom proud of her children
V: Eh, I just want to say something…
J: To say things like that...
O: What did she say?
Pina: See? I'm going to do this and smack the hell out of you
Well, from here on, I couldn’t record any more. We were pretty focused and centred on what we had to do. Although obviously you already know the outcome of the match. We ended up drawing the match against England, went to penalties, and unfortunately lost on penalties… against England. A rather harsh outcome, because to lose, being so close to be able to come as the winners that we all were obviously dreaming of…
The sad music actually made me laugh, but it’s nice to see all the moments they lived together
It’s a bit hard to look back on, but even so, despite that being the outcome, I think it ranks among the top three experiences of my life. For me, it was my first big tournament, in a place like Switzerland, which was truly beautiful and welcoming. The people supported us a lot throughout the tournament. Being able to experience it with our families, with our friends, with our loved ones… during all those days we were in Switzerland… It was really nice. I think it's something, right? That that experience would bring us all together for life. And everything we did, right? During the whole camp, there were all kinds of moments, of tears, of laughs, of… of intense conversations, of movies, of boardgames. There were all kinds of days and moments. But even if that wasn't the outcome, I still think what we experienced was something very beautiful. In this case, which I experienced myself. Surely each player has their own perspective, but… I think it was a very wonderful experience that could have ended better, but even so, it helped us a great deal in learning what lies ahead.
So I’ve you’re here, after these four videos, thank you so much. First for supporting us during the tournament. I think all the people that cheered for us, we felt them very close, having our people there was very special throughout the whole tournament. Having you, fans, was also very nice. Feeling the support from Spain, or other parts of the world, was very special. And if you’re here, obviously, thank you for watching it, for supporting it and I hope we see each other soon.
