Raising an eyebrow at her comment, he crossed his arms. âWould you like for me to leave and talk with someone is far more boring?â He asked, knowing that if he did leave, he probably would get dragged into a conversation heâd rather not have.
He stood up and took a few steps away from the fireplace, as the heat had grown once the flames had taken the logs he had placed in it. âIf you truly would prefer me to go, I will.â Henry smiled at her, wondering if she would admit to not minding his presence or simply tell him to leave.
She didnât want him to go, and she knew he knew it. She could almost hear him laughing at her in his mind, knowing he only offered the choice because he already knew the answer. For a split second she thought about telling him to go, purely out of spite, but she couldnât let herself do that.
âIf you want to go who am I to stop you?â She shrugged, trying to keep her expression neutral. âThough I suppose your company is better than no company at all, so.... You can stay.â She resisted the urge to sigh at her own answer.
