Pamela Coleman Smith was a freelance illustrator at the beginning of the 20th Century whose best-known works are the illustrations on the Rider-Waite tarot deck (which was named for the company that printed them and the “mystic” that told her what to illustrate), but she also illustrated some children’s books.
