When Sharon dropped the paper on Buckyâs lap, he lifted it up and immediately recognized it as an ultrasou, though far more advanced and precise than the ones Bucky had obsessed over before Grant was born. They were still something Bucky wasnât used to, and was in awe at. The first time he saw Grantâs ultrasound, the first time he saw his son, had had him in uncontrollable tears afterwards, at night, in Steveâs arms.
Seeing Sharonâs ultrasound didnât bring the same sentiment, but it was still touching nonetheless.
He didnât say anything about the marriage comment. It was an old topic.
âHowâs that make ya feel?â Bucky asked, carefully putting the ultrasound back in her bag. âHowâre they? Healthy?â
âScared.â She admitted quickly, glancing at Bucky again before she bit her lip, allowing the emotions that had been stirring inside of her to surface. âExcited, nervous, but mostly scared. And a little sad when I think about the knowledge that these children will outlive James and Michael.â She confessed in a quiet voice, her eyes locked on the road.Â
She was thankful for the second question since it gave her something else to think about, something that didnât revolve around the fear that was racing through her veins at the thought of being a mother again.Â
âYeah, theyâre healthy. I need to keep an eye on my blood sugar and my iron which is why I keep getting really dizzy and even fainting. That was a problem with the boys as well though, Michael kept sitting on my vena cava which stopped blood flow to my head.â She explained, tapping her fingernails against the wheel. After a few seconds of silence, she went back to biting her lip again.Â
âIâm actually really scared Buck.â
