Don't correct people for saying the wrong thing if by "wrong" you mean that you agree with what they meant, but they didn't word it the same way you would have worded it. And if you're not sure about which one is the case, ask yourself: would the opposite of what they just said be closer to the truth, or further from it?

If someone said "you could get there faster by bike" when suggesting it as an alternative to walking or public transport, but you know that getting a ride in someone's car would be the fastest, and you want to correct them on that, pause and reflect: was that an option they aknowledged and dismissed? What would be the opposite of what they just said?

If you think about it, did they say "a bicycle is fastest of the three options realistically available", or "a bicycle is the fastest of all options of all time"? The opposite of the sentence you wanted to dispute would be "it would be faster to walk or take public transport than it would be to go by bike." Is that correct?

Before disagreeing with someone, try to flip the statement on its head and contemplate whether the opposite of it would be closer to the truth. If it isn't, then instead of speaking, consider not speaking. Sometimes it is morally permissible to shut the fuck up.
