so I know I suck and haven’t really been around 99% of the time I’m kinda just lurking cause I’m getting sick as well as having a few things going on that doesn’t exactly have me in the Nancy mindset right now.

It’s my birthday week and also my last week of work before I’m off for about 5 months so I will definitely be more available very soon! But just know I still love and adore you all and usually have my eye on the dash even if I don’t have the mental capacity to write anything atm!

Insult aside, she wouldn’t catch his expression anyway, he did have something for her. Steve tossed a ‘Seriously, don’t look!’ back over his shoulder as he opened passenger side door of his car. She wouldn’t be able to see it anyway, but it was the effect that mattered. He pulled the decorative paper bag from the seat. One glance inside to see the boxed necklace and a journal with a colorful artsy design that the kind store attendant had been nice enough to pick out for him. It seemed like something she might like, especially if she had to stare at the cover for any amount of time.

He took her hands, setting the rope handle in her fingers. “Alright, now you can open your eyes. But you can only reach into the bag without looking.”

She snorted at the way he referred to Mike, “Ooh, sorry touchy subject.” She teased, raising her hands up defensively with a little amused smile on her face, her eyes still closed.

Feeling the stringed handles in her hand and the weight to it, she opened her eyes and gave Steve a look that screamed ‘you didn’t’. She was completely taken off guard by the gift bag and she had no idea what she had done to deserve a gift from him in the first place.

“Steve, come on. What is this?” She looked between him and the bag, knowing she could find out by just reaching inside. There was a smile of gratitude on her face despite the fact that she didn’t believe she was deserving of a gift out of the blue. “You didn’t have to get me anything.”
