Let it be known the worst time to meet a child is during an event war. Little Gailardia Galan Gardios had no idea what he was doing on a sidewalk. All he remembers is Pere telling him to close his eyes. But Pere’s large hand covering his eyes wouldn’t cover his ears.
It couldn’t silence the sound of swords clashing. Soldiers dying. Hodians dying. It couldn’t hide the fact that his family was murdered. It couldn’t hide the fact that everyone was dying. Hod was dying. It wasn’t fair, now was it? There is nothing fair about war, after all. Little six year old Guy learned that the hard way.
“Close your eyes. Run this way,” Pere had said, holding the little blond’s hand. “Just a little further and we’ll make it to St. Binah. If we make it there, we’ll be safe.”
But when he opened his eyes, there was no Pere. There was no grassy plain, covered in blood and discarded arrows. He was… in a city? Loud, bustling — he had never been in this environment before. So little Guy, covered in blood and trembling with fear, felt more scared than he did when his home was invaded. There was no longer someone holding his hand. There wasn’t even someone near him that he remotely knew.
And because of this, Gailardia started to cry. And if anyone listened closely to the little boy in the middle of the sidewalk, one could just barely hear “I just want to go home. I just want my mommy and daddy. And Mary. I want to go home.”
Be it five years from now. Or fifteen. Guy would find he has no home to ever go back to.
The redhead walked down the street mumbling to himself, rather confused at all of the going ons of this place. None of this stuff really existed in Tethe'alla. Buildings were never this tall, trains ran using Volt's power - yet Volt couldn't even be here if Sheena wasn't, cars were unheard of, and buses even more so!
"What the hell is this.....?" He leaned toward a taxi from the sidewalk.
"What the hell is that!" He scratched his head in the direction of a moving a bus.
Ugh, how frustrating. He didn't know how to use any of this technology!
"Y'know it really sucks being clueless, well... I guess I'll have to find some hunn--" As he turned around, he saw the child, just standing there and crying while few people stopped to look at him. It kind of made him think of Guy as an apparition. Either way, it's not like he could abandon a kid in need, he's the Chosen-- er... was the Chosen.... It would give him a bad rep here.
The redhead strutted over to the young male, standing behind him for a moment, not saying anything, only to hear those heart shattering words. This kid was displaced from his home, too. Just like everyone else here.... Yet, it hurt even more because for a moment he could imagine his sister in the same position when she was locked up in the Abbey.
The Chosen let out an annoyed sigh before coldly stating, "Hey," He awkwardly scratched underneath his headband, "You think you can move out of the middle of the sidewalk?"
He wasn't good with crying people, obviously. He knew he needed to follow that up with something else, something nicer.
"Maybe we can walk around for a while and see what's in this place, yeah? I can't just leave you sobbing all over in a place like this."
Especially since this kid got separated from his mother and dad, and... a Mary..... Whoever that was.
