Day 9 of Bl00dH3x-tober and 31 Days of Habbey:

Habbey: Family

I've always imagined that Heaths parents are divorced. I know in the Lisi Harrison books he has a sister - those books low-key have nothing to do with anything else so I haven't really decided my thoughts on that. I think Heath and his dad have a strained relationship, and Heaths mom, who I hc to be a nurse at the ER, is pretty busy. So he finds himself home alone a decent amount.

Abbey is very close with her family and loves them soooo much. In her diary she mentions having a brother - who I'm guessing is older since on her I <3 Fashion box she says she's the youngest. He has no canon name but I've named him Iceic. (Pronounced like Isaac). I think he's a bit overprotective which Abbey finds really annoying sometimes lmao, and she doesn't hesitate to let him know. But they have a good relationship despite occasionally getting on each other's nerves.

I also like to think Bloodgood is like family to Abbey. She has known her since she was tiny after all.

Bl00dH3x: Tired

I think that when Hexiciah returns he has trouble sleeping. There's a multitude of reasons - his time perception is screwed up, his body is having some side effects from being asleep in builders tech for 100 years, and his psyche has been through a lot, resulting in some horrible nightmares.

I love the idea that one day, he and Nora are spending time together and she can tell that he's very tired. She suggests that he gets some rest - but Hexiciah is adamant that he doesn't want to miss the time they had planned to spend together. So, Nora gets out a book that she's been meaning to read for a while and has him lie down as she reads it aloud to him. That way he can rest, but they can also spend some time together.

I love the idea of them both getting invited to some gala - probably as a means of representing the the school - but neither have danced in a while so they agree to help the other practice and of course it means a bit more than it was supposed to.

Habbey - Soulmate:

Not technically soulmate related but it reminded me of it - I love the headcanon that when a fire elemental is born there's a fire crystal that's tied to them, which glows alongside their heartbeat. What's done with these depends on the family - some are very protective and keep theirs all together in one tightly locked place. But for others it's common practice to have them made into jewelry - specifically some people make them into wedding rings. You can see where this is going lol.

I think another thing I find so beautiful about habbey is their dedication to love each other despite their flaws…..,

Heath has always been reminded by others of how “reckless” he can be. That he doesn’t take anything serious. That he’s too arrogant and conceited. That he lacks control. Often viewed as “too much” or an annoying liability to even some of his friends

And since day 1, Abbey has been viewed as too blunt and “cold hearted”. That she “lacks emotions” and is too stand off ish. That her words are offensive and is mean.

And while they both do try rlly hard to fix their problems, their flaws are just a part of them. Abbey will always be seen as too blunt due to her struggle with verbally expressing herself. And Heath always as reckless due to his uncontrollable powers and behavior.

Sometimes because of these flaws , they may think they’re too difficult to be loved. Abbey always makes guys go away because of her blunt attitude. And Heath is never taken serious by girls because of his reputation and behavior.

But despite both of their apparent and even challenging flaws , they decide to stay and help each other out because they still love them even with all of their problems . Because their flaws are also a resemblance of who they are and doesn’t want the other to change. Abbey still loves Heath even when he’s being “annoying” or “too much” because it makes her laugh. And Heath still loves Abbey with all her bluntness because he sees it as her being strong

They both have patience and understand each other more than anyone else. They see the other’s flaws and dont run away but instead choose to stay and love them nonetheless

I feel like a lot of times in the fandom Abbey can be reduced to the "strong badass one who doesn't give a fuck" and while she most certainly is the strong badass one, and doesn't waste time on things she finds unearning of it, I feel like sometimes people forget that Abbey's main struggle is that she DOES feel things, and deeply, she just has trouble expressing it. In her introductory webisodes we see how badly she wants to have friends, how much she cares and how hurt she is when someone assumes she doesn't have emotions. We see her cry. She tries to hide it, but it happens.

She's a lot more of a softie than people sometimes realize. She will just also kick your ass if needed.
