I think my in universe explaination as to why Hex and Nora talk Like That (pretentiously) in the EAH AU, despite it being the like, fairytale equivalent of the 80s, is that Nora was raised on and probably at least partially learned to speak via classic literature, and Hexiciah's mother is a fairy lmao
I have decided Himani is a Game Master for her local group that is the EAH equivalent of DnD. Notably, her games tend to have the "villain" characters come out on top, painting the "heroes" in a much less flattering light. Also notably, she almost always does what she can to give her team members a happily ever after in game
I was thinking about Hex and Nora and the rest in the winter in the EAH AU, back when they were in school. And Hex...doesn't really get cold like others do. He's made of wood. But he still bundles up for the snow etc. Firstly, he loves a good coat. But more importantly, I think it's a way to "blend in". He already has people think he's different, has them highlight the ways in which he doesn't experience things the same way they do. He can pretend he can feel cold, he can play the part. One less thing that sets him apart
Before his destiny, Nora tries to be very careful with what she asks/how she words things when asking Hex something - she knows that if he doesn't tell the truth everyone will know. Later on, Hex and Nora try to be even more thoughtful around Robecca, since her curse is even more severe
I think that Himani's mother always told her, very proudly, that she was perfect for her destiny. She would be the perfect Snow Queen. Himani did not take this with the same pride she did.
Hexiciah was nominated for Thronecoming King, but he didn't win. Adam and Viveka won, of course.
One day when Nora was young she and her father were taking a walk in the Dark Forest (I imagine their home is in there) and Nora for a moment wandered away and stumbled across some terrifying creature. This of course scared her, and the creature was not friendly. However, the Headless Horseman arrives on the scene, riding atop his steed, and makes it known that this is his daughter. The creature immediately backs down. And I think that was one of the first times Nora became cognitively aware of how exactly people saw her father.
When she's old enough to be going places on her own, she carries one of her father's belongings in her pocket to ward off anything that may try something again.
