“‘Cause it ain’t, a’right? Stop stickin’ yer nose in other people’s business.”
"Why do you always have to be such an asshole? I know you're not."
We. It’s a strange concept when Alice truly thinks about it. And ponder it, she does, as she fumbles her way forward, a hand gripping Beth’s shoulder, blooded knuckles near to white. For, she’s spent so much time alone, see? Even before the world fell apart. To have someone who is, seemingly, so very determined to keep her around is strange. The dear girl is unsure of as to how to react to it.
A near-silent chuckle, “You don’t have to say that. Besides, if it happens, what’s the use in both of us getting torn to shreds? I’m sure that’s not how you plan on ending your day?”
“No. Sorry. You’re right. We’re… well,” A look to her leg, and the bloodstained jeans, ”We’re almost fine, aye? Could be worse.”
Beth wanted so badly to stop in their tracks so she could look Alice straight in her eyes and tell her that she promised she would never leave her behind, no matter what. But she really wanted to get someplace safe right now, so stopping wasn't an option.
"No. Getting torn to shreds would definitely not be my ideal end to any day," she paused, huffing slightly as she continued to grow more tired, trying her best to hide the fact that her muscles were aching. "But I wasn't just saying that. I won't leave you behind."
Finally, Beth noticed a small shed in the distance in the middle of a field. There weren't any walkers around, and it seemed as though the shed could be vacant. "There. Let's go check out that shed," she said, and suddenly the last few treks toward the shed became even more painful.
He’s not exactly an open book kind of guy. So there wasn’t no way in hell he’d spill his heart out.
“Ain’t no business a’ yours.”
"Come on----
My business is your business, why can't yours be mine too?"
Put one of these in my ask! (Fluffy)
"Is it humid in here? You look like a cotton ball."
"No, I will not give your shirt back."
"I think the pillow fort is perfect."
"I made cookies. You’re not having any."
"I never thought you’d be so ticklish!"
"Kiss, kiss."
"Where do you even find so many kittens?"
"Can I use your tummy as a pillow? It’s soft."
"Read me poetry and play with my hair. Now."
"I think you’ve had too much candy."
Beth approached her companion upon seeing his silent inner struggle, becoming curious as to what could be bothering him.
"Daryl? You alright?"
“You sure you should be drinking that water? Almost certain I saw a biter fall in there.”
Beth spewed out the water from her mouth before she had a chance to swallow it; eyes glancing in the other girl's direction.
"----Are you serious?"
“Oh, I could be stupid. You just don’t
know. I mean, how well would it work out if I were stumbling around, out of my mind? It’s bound to lead to something awful.”
Alice likes Beth. She’d never expected to, mind; but then, such a thing is just within her nature. The girl’s never been good at making friends, being around other people. It never used to bother her, not until the world seemed so empty. She began to crave some sort of interaction. Beth’s offered her that, and she’s uniquely glad for it.
“That’s alright.” She purses her lips, casts her gaze ahead of her and focuses on something unseen, “Wait. ——what if we need to run? What if—” And she stops herself before she begins to worry, “Alright.”
"I would just have to keep you on lock down when you drink then, wouldn't I?"
Another smirk formed on her lips as she tried to keep her voice at a soft level, making sure nothing nearby could hear them-- just in case. She was keeping her eyes on their surroundings most of the time, when she wasn't glancing over at Alice beside her. As they walked, Beth's own legs began to grow a bit tired from the extra weight that was leaning against her. But she didn't have any other choice but to help her new friend along.
"Don't----" Beth started, shaking her head as Alice began to worry, "----we're gonna be fine. Even if we have to run, I won't leave you behind. Ever."
; i just { s i g h } that movie was the greatest. it made me cry so much. jared leto's performance was my favorite, matthew mcconaughey was remarkable, and jennifer garner is always adorable. i wanna watch it again.
; so i just watch dallas buyers club last night. that fucking movie was amazing. and jared leto was a fucking DOLL. i don't care how sick he looked-- he was beautiful.
“Oh, you wouldn’t. Or you’d at least
regret ever meeting me in the first place. I’m sure it wouldn’t be a very pretty sight. Ow——”
She hobbles along as best she can beside Beth, fists clenching every now and then as her leg protests. It seems to battle against any form of movement now, and a certain ache is beginning to take hold. Alice has had worse in the past, she must remind herself of that.
“Okay, so—— do you have any idea as to which way we’re heading now? Cause i’m definitely not the one who’s leading here.”
"Aww, why not? You not a fun drunk to be around?" Beth smirked, glancing over at the wounded girl against her hip. She kept a firm hold of her to make sure she wouldn't fall over, nor would she have to put all of her weight down on her hurt leg.
The two women hadn't spent too terribly much time together so far, and at first, Beth wasn't sure if she wanted somebody as negative as Alice around. But she couldn't turn her away-- even though she said she could take care of herself. Beth was becoming lonely. She needed someone to spend these lonely, dangerous days with. She was glad it was Alice.
"----Um... honestly, I have no idea," she told her with a weak smile and a shrug of her shoulders. "But we'll keep walkin' 'til we find somethin'. I don't care if I end up havin' to carry you, I will."
"You should have seen the look on your face."
”— Stop.” There’s no real anger or annoyance behind the word. Instead it rides on a light chuckle as he shakes his head, hair falling over his eyes. “You weren’t t’calm yerself, y’know. That was some damn yelp, girl.”
Beth rolled her eyes upon hearing Daryl's added comment, crossing her arms loosely over her chest. "Yeah, well-- at least I didn't trip all over myself trying to get away from a damn dog yelling 'chupacabra!'"
