i’m not really a synesthete, i just associate music with colors and patterns. so, going straight to it:

• give yourself a try; i know it might feel like it's because of matty's hair, but the first time i listened to it, it was pure orange. in fact, a lot of a brief inquiry to me is in oranges, reds and yellows. so gyat it's that brighter orange mixing with stripes of yellow

• TOOTIMETOOTIMETOOTIME; this one is pretty much like the base of the song is lilac, and the details are in yellows. both really light and pastel. this song calms me down with the visuals

• how to draw / petrichor; so... how to draw is more like lilac with the piano making some hints of yellow and pastel orange. the voices in how to draw bring a brighter orange. when petrichor comes in, the colors become stronger. i love the visuals i see in this one SO MUCH

• love it if we made it; the song itself reminds of a mix of purples and pinks, but with some hints of red. like, all towards red hues

• be my mistake; this one is such a pastel orange; with some pale greens. the shades remind me of some orange flowers, but their patterns are more like brush strokes

• sincerity is scary; this is soooooooo sunny. so yellow and orangey. i love it so much there's a little kindness also from pinkish, but barely

• i like america & america likes me; bright purple and yellow !!!!!! very chaotic actually and all over the place but the tones in this pic are so close

• the man who married a robot / love theme; so... this one is purple based. but the hints change from one part to another. on the poem, the voice brings a yellow. these yellows change into an orange when the violins hit in the love theme. it's quite beautiful

• inside your mind; so... in this one, the colors twist around each other. it's primarily pink, but there's a hint of many different colors

• it's not living (if it's not with you); this one is pure orange. there's really not much with it

• surrounded by heads and bodies; this one has hints of neon yellow/green and orange, and it goes >darker<. i kinda like it but it bothers me sometimes

• mine; it's delicate and calm and bright and yellowish. love it, feels really good

• i couldn't be more in love; this one is powerful. so powerful. i tried to find a good representation and i think it goes beautifully like this picture. silky texture with bright passionate and powerful tones. i love it so much

• i always wanna die (sometimes); so this one always becomes quite messy as it grows and it pulls me in. so thought of this to represent since it's also colorful

i’m not really a synesthete, i just associate music with colors and patterns. so, going straight to it:

• love me; i know it might seem obvious but this song SCREAMS PINK !!!!!!!!!!!! pure pink in concrete walls. the instrumental really embodies what the lyrics say which is why i love this song, is cohesive from start to finish with its meaning. this is THE iliwys song

• ugh!; i see it with neon tokyo city aesthetic lights, yk? those really cinematic vaporwave things. it's just loads of lights from blue, pink and purple combo with that dirty/raw aspect of cities

• a change of heart; like, don't get me wrong: i know the aesthetics of the album came from the fans, but it revolves around pinks and neons, right? like, they mostly look like it. this song for me it's just... light glittery pink?

• she's american; so this one i see more on the blue/purple side. also with lights. i think this album is very... city-like? the visuals that come to my mind are mostly related to bright city lights and alleys. it really goes with the aesthetic

• if i believe you; this is one of the few that gets out a little bit. it feels more serious and introspective. feeling cornered in the dark with only a few spots of purple light.

• please be naked; this song just hugs me. and it feels sexy in the colors. the picture is only about the shade with the smoke; are really accurate to how i see it.

• lostmyhead; this is one my favorite from the album and is one of the most beautiful in its visuals. it's a complete burst of colors. this is definitely one of my fav songs of the band ever, it's so emotional and powerful. these images really captured kinda how i see it.

• the ballad of me and my brain; i think this portion of the album is darker/stronger. this is saturated colors in contrast.

• somebody else; this goes back to the normal aesthetics of the album, with neon city lights. but i see it as watching city light from afar, yk? this kind of pattern for the pink. obviously can't find the image of just the light spots but anyways

• loving someone; this is also a little more serious-darker tones in a feathery texture in pinks with some red smokes

• i like it when you sleep, for you are so beautiful yet so unaware of it; sutil. real sutil. soothing. that's all i can say

• the sound; not gonna say a lot about this as well. same aesthetics, i guess? it just changes the shades a bit. this one is pure pink again tho, and geometrical (?) - forgot the name for this but

• this must be my dream; PURE LILAC. IT SCREAMS LILAC !!!!!!!!!! and it's water. if you disagree go listen to the song again

• paris; white concrete with soft texture-look like a statue covered in lilac. this gives an idea of this mix, i think

• nana; this one has changed throughout the years for me. today i envision it in really bright pink cloudy shades, with some hints of blue. think my own nana would like it ^^

• she lays down; this one... it's very tactile. contrasts and high saturations, even though it's a sad sad sad song. it has every color, it's more about the contrast and texture of it. and saturation.

so, i kinda did this thread on twitter a while back, and decided to bring here ‘cause i have nothing to do. original thread: https://twitter.com/hammezita/status/1290108242668986369 i'm not really a synesthete, i just associate music with colors and patterns. so, going straight to it:

• the city; shades of grey with petrol green, kinda like these types of marble

• M.O.N.E.Y.; a range from petrol green to turquoise

• chocolate; i didn't find a perfect example of how i visualize it, but it's kinda like a mix o warm reddish browns with bright oranges, the thing that is comfy, happy and reminds me of coffee and oranges

• sex; briiiight deep red with blacks and grey's, this one really shows how i see it. even the pattern. maybe just a little hint of some brighter greys (this image is quite low-quality, sry)

• talk!; i instantly picture these types of abstract paintings, chaotic but arranged brush strokes of bright fucking yellows and greys. like INSTANTLY

• an encounter; i really do envision it as the previous-robbers song, so it's like... the colors preparing to burst into what they become in robbers (?). so lilacs, light blues, light pinks/reds... this is perfect

• heart out; this was hard to find an example to what i see. try to picture it: organized light emissions of neon light greens and blues. with some shades of dark blues and greens. way more greens than blues. that's it

• settle down; another one hard to find an image to. but blacks and whites with pastel orange

• robbers; like i said in an encounter, those colors burst and get REAL bright. and they pretty much become just bright fucking red and purple

• girls; bright fluffy shades of warm colors (red pink orange and yellow pretty much) and some small hints of bright cold shades

• 12; in here i actually imagine even the movements of the colors. like a black backdrop with light pinks and lilacs lights moving in times like sound waves. they look like galaxy colors

• she way out; i kinda see it as pastel pink with some serious aspect of dark shades. then i realized it would be really dark greens that come from leafs

• menswear; have no clue why but i see serious tones of brown and grey. like woody and metally (?)

• pressure; i see it as dark citrus colors?? like dark greens, oranges... don't know why i just accept it

• is there somebody who can watch you; this is quite personal to me. blurred visions with sad deep tones of blues and purples. kinda like what loneliness and feeling powerless feels like to be

• facedown; grey dark sky with reds. that's it. an interlude of a day kinda (not a good quality in the photo again, sry)

• antichrist; dark blue. but those that give you tranquility and makes you wonder about life? this is my fav song by the 1975!

• woman; hmmm i don't know how to describe it. those pinkish purples that are rooted in a burgundy? too specific, i know. but like, look at this. the color. the texture. this is just perfect

• intro / set3; pure purple and lilac. just that. simple and straightforward

• you; just... cherry blossoms. i instantly think of cherry blossoms

• milk; pastel pink blue and lilac. calming soothing and looking like dense gas

• anobrain; another purple song. this one seems more bright, holographic. but the colors have more of a gas form

• HNSCC; this is starts also sad deep blue, but it seems less disturbing for me. like a mid term between is here somebody and antichrist. it finishes in a bright bright bright calming blue

• head. cars.bending; okay, city colors. you know, grey ??????? just THAT grey. concrete tones in buildings. chaotic like the city i live in etc

• me; i just see it as black & white. apparently the most self-titled of the self-titled songs for me lol so i'll go for textures: smokey. concrete mixed with natural details of the earth

• haunt // bed; hey god it's purple again. this one we're going to some lavender inside my head. a worn-out type of lavender. some grey's in it

• so far (it's alright); all of a sudden i see bright happy colors again !!! especially the citrus pink?

• fallingforyou; last but not least !! but apparently the main color of this album for me is purple. cause fallingforyou is lilac. a really pretty and sutil one
