actually you know what no I want to talk more about the implications of the curse! Someone smarter than me made a post on here talking about how the curse didn’t actually rewrite the characters personalities, it just brought out their worst traits and hid their best ones, and that would have been so interesting to explore more as the show went on?? We got a tiny itty bitty glimpse of that near the beginning of season two when David (in a last ditch effort to keep people from fleeing Storybrooke) jumped up on his truck and went “I’m both Prince James and David Nolan!”, but then they just, like, never brought it up again?? Like in the curse David was still a one-track minded lovesick guy, but he didn’t have any of the courage or integrity that made him him, and even in his little speech he never brought up how awful it must have been to have lived as the worst version of himself for however long he was awake (a few months at least) and how that must have fundamentally changed him as a person. Or Snow, and how she lived as this naive do-gooder for nearly three decades without any of the drive and ambition and strength that made her such a revered leader. Even Archie and Whale, who had to continue on with their ‘careers’ all while the reason that they even chose those things in the first place was taken from them. I mean the curse just reset the characters to their weakest points and they never discuss how they’re supposed to move on from living like that for so long. I mean they talk about but the narrative doesn’t actually do anything with it when that could have literally been the entire plot of season two if they wanted.
