Don't get me wrong, I love Scott, but he and Courtney didn't know each other long. She and Duncan know each other inside and out, against both of their wills, and I feel like Duncan (being as jealous as he was in All Stars) would 100% make a point to rub that fact in Scott's face, while still denying that he's at all upset that Courtney's moved on. Which, you know, she totally hasn't. But if she did, it wouldn't bother him. (But she hasn't.)

When Scott goes to grab Courtney something from the dining hall, Duncan's there, telling him that actually, she hates mushrooms, and he thought her perfect boyfriend Scott would know that.

He catches Scott looking lost on the way back to the cabin and doesn't even need to ask what happened. He reminds him that Courtney hates when someone talks to her while she's reading, because she can't process both at once.

Sometimes he doesn't even have to say anything.

When they're all sitting around the campfire , having snuck some beers from Chris's trailer, he wordlessly pops the tab and removes it before passing one to Courtney. (She broke an acrylic on a ring pull before Action and Duncan laughed at her, but she hasn't had to open her own cans since.) She scowls at him before turning back to Scott, who is pointedly not looking at him.

When they're all watching horror movies in the Vultures cabin, Duncan shoves a pillow into Courtney's arms before the first gorey scene comes up. She goes to open her mouth until she hears the leading lady scream, and hurries to cover her face with the pillow. Duncan raises an eyebrow at Scott. He pulls her closer, and Duncan keeps his eyes on the screen for the rest of the night.

There's a knowing smile on his face the whole time.

my truest most honest conspiracy theory that I fully 100% believe is that they put Scott and Courtney together in tdas 1. because they needed a romance between two characters from different seasons and those were literally the only two they could’ve picked because every single other woman was in a relationship and out of lightning Scott and Cameron it’s unfortunately predictable they’d pick Scott and 2. they wanted to downplay the extremely lesbian activities Courtney and Gwen were getting into by going But Look She Likes Scott (even though she really only thought about him passively AND EVEN ADMITTED SCOTT WAS SO GROSS GWEN WOULD NEVER STEAL HIM FROM HER)

soоооо I planned to make this comics a few years ago. At the end of TDROTI Cameron won in my country, and it helped an amazing story to be born in my head 🥳🥳 I am very glad that I finally sat down to do this!!!!
