He nodded slowly, happy that he’d made a seemingly alright call. Not that it would have mattered. If she’d wanted anything else, he’d have gotten it for her. “That’s good,” well was alright. It placed marginally higher than fine, but wasn’t nearly as good as good, and that was a decent place to be. “I’m well too,” he said, tilting his head a bit to the side. “You did?” he asked, almost surprised. Sure, he knew Asher had been promoting it and there was just as big a chance she’d see it as anyone else, but it was nice knowing she’d seen it. “You should come if you’re not busy. And if you want to, I mean.” Avery wasn’t sure what his plan with that was. It’s not like he could skate around with her while they played, he just knew he’d like to see her. A waitress came down with two trays for them and he quickly thanked her before returning his attention to Quinn. “Again, I didn’t know what you wanted, so I got milkshakes, both strawberry and chocolate, Pepsi and water, still and sparkling, so uh…” he laughed, this time kind of nervously, as he scratched the back of his head. “Yeah. Take whatever you want.”
Once all he had ordered arrived to the table, Quinn let out a soft laugh, shaking her head. It was oddly considerate, for him to provide her with so many options, and she appreciated it. But she didn’t know what his angle was. Obviously he wasn’t the type to do things out of the goodness of his heart. In fact, she wasn’t even sure he actually had a heart, given the way he’d treated her previously, but she put her bitter feelings towards him aside for the moment and grabbed the strawberry milkshake, pulling it towards her and taking a sip. “Good choice,” she commented with a slight smile, her eyes on his. “But, yeah, I did,” she said, going back to their conversation before the distraction. She couldn’t tell if he actually wanted her there, or if he was just suggesting it because she brought it up. “I’ll think about it,” she said with a shrug, trying to maintain a casual disinterest overall. “It’s not like it’d make much of a difference either way, whether I was there or not,” she said, shrugging again, fishing for him to express whether he actually wanted her there.
